Elder American friend in Chiang Rai is safe but ill - need someone to check on him please

Hi there, I have an elder American friend in his late 60's who broke his leg 9 months ago. He just send me an email stating the docs say he has another 6 months to go for healing. He is safe but a bit isolated and quiet lonely for someone to speak to in English. I think the news of a longer recuperation has been quite discouraging. We are seeking someone or a group to visit with him on a regular basis until he is able to get back to normal. I don't believe he knows anyone there in Chang Rai Thailand. Do you know of anyone who might be willing to check in on Dennis and he is a very kind, gentle person. Thanks for any help. Linnea

OP please confirm whether Chiang Mai or Rai as they are different places. If Chiang Rai I will move this to appropriate forum.

Hi, so sorry but yes it is Chiang Rai instead of Chiang Mai. I don't know the address yet as he only emails once a day. Thanks for your help. I will change to the other city. Is there anyway to delete these posts? I accidently put on 2. Thanks again, Linnea

Just an update and I was able to go to the one website recommended here and they will have an American nurse contact him hopefully. Several members have messaged me about visiting with him. Thanks so much. If I did not reply it is because I am not sure how to access the private message option. Again thank you all,

Yes, the American nurse who sometimes helps LCN in Chiang Rai will soon make contact with the OP's friend. If you'd like to visit this man to chat, please contact us [email protected] and I'll pass along your contact information to the LCN person to co-ordinate visitation schedule, etc.

The man is located right in Amphur Muang of Chiang Rai.

OP -- Chiang Mai and Chiang Rai are several hours apart, by car, although Chiang Rai people often come to Chiang Mai for medical treatment.
