discarding used batteries and electronic equipment - where?

Featured Replies

I have some used batteries and a few small electronic devices which I would like to get rid of. I prefer not to throw it in the garbage as it is not good for the environment. In many european countries they have stations where such things can be left, and it will be taken care of in a more environmentally friendly manner. Is there any place in CM where such items can be left?

I do not know about ChiangMai but at the tessabahn in ChiangRai they have shelves outside to dispose of dangerous waste well organised too. THey may have the same down there.

If you wanna submerge yourself in the local culture, then just hoy them out the car window

Yes they are all over C.M. It's been discussed a number of times. Maybe do a search on the forum so I don't have to try and type all the locations that I can think of!

...or just submerge them in the local klong along with all the other junk.

There is a battery box at the Free Bird Cafe on the north side of the moat on the corner of municipal stadium road, look for the brightly coloured flags hanging outside.

At the back of Suan Buak Had (park) just outside the gate (N.E. corner), by the rubbish truck parking area, is a collection point for such items.

Amazing, we care for these things, thanks for the info. Perhaps some locals take note...if...
