Buying a UK mobile with Thai language

Featured Replies

Hi All

I am looking at buying my wife a mobile with Thai language so she can send SMS's to her family back home. We have 2 mobiles, a Nokia C3 and a samsung galaxy Y that we have tried to put Thai language ont, but with no luck. Any Ideas!!! We are in the UK and My wifes 24 month Mobile contract is up in 2 weeks.

Why don't you just go into somewhere like Carphone Warehouse or Phones 4 You and ask them, or look yourself on their demo phones? When you scroll though the language options if the phone supports Thai language one of the options will say 'ไทย'.

I bought an LG phone about five years ago that had a Thai option but haven't looked since.

I have found that Samsung don't make it available.. It's on the phone but you have to root it to make it available. too much screwing about unless you are into tinkering. If she isn't going back soon, I personally would consider getting an Asian phone from ebay.

umm wouldn't any Android phone be suitable.. the thai keyboard you can get from Play store.

you only want it for sending texts right.. the phone can still be in english

  • 3 weeks later...

Why not use Skype, cheaper too and they even do a deal with unlimited calls to a specific country (Thailand for you) for about £6/month.

If she has a laptop she can also SMS on the same deal in Thai script.
