Ajarn Sompong Trungtawatchai is a great OB/GYN. He delivered my kid and 13 others that same day!

Prices have doubled at Sriphat over the last few years but still good value and 1st class service.

We have used Lanna for 2 children. One was 2 months premature. We have been happy with the service both times

I would never suggest Klaimor. Lanna and Sripath best way to go. Lanna is good for deleveries. Good luck1

Why not Klaimor, bad experience?

It's just about a dedicated maternity hospital,hundreds of birth's a year or didn't you know that?

Many bad experiences. Once the doctor discharged my mrs. Saying it's safe. (She had dengue fever) we went to her home and she got worse. Had to re admit in another hospital.

Certainly a little hospital like Klaimor would not have the expertise of specialists or the equipment in the event something went wrong like Sriphat or Lanna Hospital would. When my child was at Sriphat when he was little there was a woman in there with a young child who had brain damage. She was born in a small hospital somewhere. They did not have the equipment or expertise to deal with a problem that occurred and as a result the child was brain-damaged.

Certainly a little hospital like Klaimor would not have the expertise of specialists or the equipment in the event something went wrong like Sriphat or Lanna Hospital would. When my child was at Sriphat when he was little there was a woman in there with a young child who had brain damage. She was born in a small hospital somewhere. They did not have the equipment or expertise to deal with a problem that occurred and as a result the child was brain-damaged.

Lanna, Ram, or McCormick - all good.

McCormick is good my fiancees sister and cousin both gave birth to their kids there. Chiang Mai Ram is expensive they wanted more than double conpared almost three times of what they paid at McCormick

Although I don't really like McCormick, I can say positive things about both the Pediatric and OB/GYN Department. My child was hospitalized at McCormick a number of times (flu bugs, respiratory infections, etc.) as we could no longer handle the daily parking situation at Sriphat, and McCormick was close. The Pediatricians are all very young but are supervised by a CMU Professor. The Pediatric nurses are great. As far as the OB/GYN Department, there are older, well-experienced Doctors but you have to ask for them specifically. The g/f's aunt was diagnosed with cancer at a government hospital and she went to McCormick for a 2nd opinion. She had to wait about a week for an opening to see one of the senior OB/GYN's who told her that she did not have cancer and that she had a very minor condition that a 20 minute procedure would take care of. She was scheduled about 2 days later and the senior doctor performed the procedure. She has since bought an insurance plan through McCormick (available to Thais only).

Sripat (or Sriphat) - based upon my experience - it depends upon the time of day that your baby decides to be born. My wife went into labor around midnight. The nurses were calling for the doctor, who was not at the hospital, every 20 minutes for 3 hours until he finally showed. Our baby was out within 20 minutes of the doctor's arrival. The wait was not a good experience.

My wife uses Lanna - loves it.

After my 1st & last experience with Ram, you couldn't drag me in there again.

McCormick is #1 in my personal book.

My wife had our son in McCormick in September and we would highly recommend it to anyone. The Doctor and all the staff we dealt with were great, as was our private room. The service was excellent and the young nurse who looked after our baby was an angel.

We have been there before for other reasons as well. Very good all-round hospital.

Dr. Supriya is great and works out of Sripat Hospital. She also does checkups at Kullapat clinic (Jet Yod area) up until the birth.

Dr. Supreeya is excellent, but she is limiting the number of patients she is taking, so if you choose Sriphat, you would have to find a different doctor. I also think when you ask which hospital is best for giving birth, the answer depends on what you want. If you are planning on a c-section, and bottle feeding, the hospitals mentioned in the post already (Klaimor, Lanna, Ram, McCormick) all can do an acceptable job, so then you would just want to see what package you might qualify for (Thais have some packages that foreigners don't. Prices differ greatly--for example, the c-section package at Sriphat is B43,000, and I think about B28,000 at Rajevev, and Ram would be about B65,000 (no package).) However, if you are desiring a natural birth with good breastfeeding support following delivery, that is more difficult to find, and I would only recommend either Ram or Sriphat.

Sorry but there is no double-pricing of child birth packages. Don't know where you got that. I asked for prices when my child was born and then the g/f went to ask prices a couple of weeks later and the figures were identical. She is as stingy as they come. If there were discounted programs she would know it as she reads countless children's forums every day. Sripaht use to be 14K (12.5K if you signed up for the discounted program) and 28K for c-section if needed. Prices have gone up considerably.

If you were being serious, then I apologize. I could share lots of horror stories from that establishment but I won't get into it. I'll just join the others who have posted here in suggesting the OP stick with RAM or Sripat and not Klaimor.
