BANGKOK, 3 December 2013 (NNT) — CAT Telecom Public Company Limited has reported as much as 300 million baht in damage after suffering from an electrical cutout.

CAT chief executive officer Kittisak Sriprasert stated that demonstrators had closed nearby roads to the company’s Chaengwattana and Bang Rak offices which have rendered employees unable to work.

Reports show that on November 30 there were a group of people that infiltrated the demonstrations to cause damage to the company’s property with a specific objective to shutdown the electrical system. A total of 300 million baht in damage has initially been reported.

The culprits have not yet been caught as the police are still investigating the case. However, judging from the incident, it is evident that those who broke into the company were electrical professionals.

Where do they get these numbers from? Is this going to be a tax writeoff by any chance?

Oh do leave off, it's a nice round number, looks good too. Not like B2,495,095.

Perhaps they should have gone for 400 million with 30% for skim. smile.png

"...it is evident that those who broke into the company were electrical professionals."

In Thailand that probably means that they know what a ground wire is.

Or this entire report is just another ploy to raise its rates.

Totally made up figures from these crooks!

Just waiting for the compensation claims to start rolling in from them!........Then only a short wait for them to be paid!

As they would have had to disable the backup generators and battery backup systems to cut the power completely perhaps CAT should be looking at their own employees!!

Yes the gross cost of replacing the 14 fiber optic cables is 14,000 baht + corruption money= 300 ,000,000.

Wonderfully Profitable are these situations.

Does that mean I get a discount for all the time my internet connection was down while I was paying for it??? I don't think so - CAT have never compensated for service outages.

Not an inside job then.

"... know that a ground wire is", very unlikely.

Perhaps CAT should file a law suit against the police for failing to protect it, or do anything at all.

CAT supposedly lost 300 million, what about all other business who suffered as a result? what can the rest do, since tax write off is not an option

I'd like to see the actual evidence of exactly what damage was done to cause such an estimate for repair.

300 million Baht seems to be the going rate for most things these day's,

unless you're name starts with a "T" or "Y" and you're going for the grand prize of course, then it's "Trillions"
