Popular Post kingalfred
A ticketing pool takes 30 months?once again how pathetic,A city the size of Bangkok is so backward in integrating its transport, never mind the fact the system is fragmented and covers only the centre of the city. .two and a half years (and it will be longer) to be able to use a prepaid card on different forms of transport , what about asking other cities who have done this?Mai me, this is thailand only we can do it our way Edited December 12, 2013 by kingalfred

CPT
I thought that's the purpose the Rabbit card was supposed to serve? BTS and BRT use the rabbit card and the plan was for the MRT to as well. Now they are going to move to a different system that takes 2 1/2 years (3 yrs in real time likely) to implement? Briggsy
When they finally get round to implementing the new system, there will be an admin fee to change your old card to a new card again. Nice little earner every time they change the cards.

rubl
On the way ... Several state-run mass transport agencies will discuss ... It will take about 30 months before the ticketing pool is launched. May I wonder if they already know details which allow this 30 month planning?

Morakot
Great idea and long, long overdue, BUT... 30 months???? Two and a half years??? Is this a face-saving euphemism to announce that discussions have momentarily failed and that it will not be likely in the immediate future? tingtongteesood
I guess PT need 30 months to try and 'cook the books' to hide all the evidence of what they have really been up to before anything is allowed to be 'transparent'. Once they feel confident there is no paper trail left, we may see something useful happen.,..Screw that ! Let's just have a new government that really knows what they are doing for a change, would be nice...

They didn't actually say they would - they actually agreed to discuss it....so not at all a done deal yet...A lot of careful dividing up the surplus to be sorted out first. Thai at Heart
They can't even get the same names on the stations. Do you know how dumb it is to have Sukhumvit and Asoke or saladaeng and Siloam vertically above each other. Once I saw that I realised little cab ever get organised in thailand.
