Click on [3D>] button on left pane, and let it run once (to load sat images) before watching if net connection is slow.

As you can see, the 3D button is next to "Driving directions to Unknown road" on the side panel. Thanks, PS.

Tips:

Sometimes you may have to click on the 3D button 3 times (3D -> 2D -> 3D) before the red icon wakes up and the 3D scenery begins to move along.

If your internet connection is slow, let the virtual tour run to the end by itself, and run it again when all satellite images are loaded.

When the show starts you can select (click) any portion of the tour list (1.Head west, 2.Slight left, etc...) from the side panel to pause/jump tour sections.

Open up a full-screen browser window, hide the side panel, and enjoy the show.

I can see the page but there's no 3D button, even when I sign in to google. Is this service available to everyone or have some of you paid for some extras?

Same here.

No payment involved - I'm using Firefox with the Google Earth Plugin installed.

Maybe if you don't have this plugin installed, the Google Maps site detects that you can't play 3D content and then disables the 3D button.

It takes just a few seconds to install the Google Earth Plugin - it's worth it.

I had problems earlier even though found the 3 D button.... it had a grey screen with the twirly thing going around.... seems to work OK now....

When you open Jose's link look on left side of page half way down you will see Driving directions to unknown destination and just to the right you will see 3D press this sign.

3D requires the Google Earth plugin - if you don't have it, there will be no 3D button.
