tuffy Posted May 11, 2006 Posted May 11, 2006 OK so we made it here and we are ready to buy something. We have been looking (online) at the new toyota and isuzu 4 door pickups for around $20G. Anyone know are good showroon ibetween pattaya and rayong? Anyone have anything bad or good to say abou tthese outfits?
barryofthailand Posted May 16, 2006 Posted May 16, 2006 Their are two Toyota showrooms in Pattaya. One north of Banglamung on the west side of Suhkemvit, and the other one on the east side of the hgwy just south of the first one. Their is also am Isuzu showroom aon the East side of Suhkemvit just before the Toyota showroom. Both companies make excellent pick up trucks in Thailand.
tuffy Posted May 16, 2006 Author Posted May 16, 2006 THanks barry! I checked out the Toyota dealer on the west side. They said they are about 1 to 2 months out on delivery. So we checked out the Chevy dealer. They can deliver in less than a week but are more expensive. Otherwise we can go to Bkk and Toyota's are only a few weeks out there. Any input on the chevy in Thailand?
terdsak_12 Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 If you're paying cash you should be able to drive away the same day.
tuffy Posted May 17, 2006 Author Posted May 17, 2006 If you're paying cash you should be able to drive away the same day. Not for Toyota. 3months wait for a 4 door in Pattaya and 1 month wait for the same in BKK. For the model we are looking for.
terdsak_12 Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 What model is that? I'm picking them up within 2 days.
busgen Posted May 17, 2006 Posted May 17, 2006 Where to go? Pfffffff, what do you want? Chevy and Isuzu use basically the same technique, only the design of interior and front differs. According to some Thai, Isuzu and Chevy are popular, but you'll loose to much after some years. Toyota is far out the most popular car the LOS, but the delivery time can be very long. When you are lucky and 'your' car is in stock or somewhere around, the car can be delivered in a few days. Otherwise you might have to wait weeks or even months. In the case of my company who bought a Toyota Vigo J 4x2 D4D on 28-12-2005............, this car was delivered last week (7-5-2006).
tuffy Posted May 18, 2006 Author Posted May 18, 2006 We finally settled on an Isuzu yesterday. Got a good deal and all the extra's. We will pick it up on Monday. Basically the model we have been looking at is 4 door 4x2 with leather seats. Even in BKK we were told it would be a min. 2 weeks wait and probably longer. Where are you shopping terdsak? I personally liked the look of the chevy better but with the lack of service centers everywhere i didn't want the hassle. I just sold a 2004 chevy truck back home and before it had 15k miles on it, it had been to the shop 3 times for repair.
