But it is the medecines, food and similar aid that has been stopped as being supplied to the 'official' opposition - which claimed to be democratic and pro-Western.

Problem was, all the aid was being 'stolen' by the Islamists and they were then distributing it. Because the 'official' opposition are a bunch of intellectuals who couldn't fight their way out of a paper bag. The Islamists are the ones making Bashar Al-Assad sweat.

However the UK is definitely continuing to supply all possible aid to the refugees in camps OUTSIDE Syria, but is also denying any immigration into the UK. Don't know about US.
