My wife and I will be coming to Thailand soon and I would like to know if Amitriptyline (Elavil) is available without a prescription and also the approximate cost? I could get her meds here before we leave. However, since she would not be due a refill until after we leave for Thailand, it would be a hassle to get an early refill. Her prescription is for 50 mg nightly. Thanks

This shouldn't be a problem they have many types of drug available in this category in most chemists.

Yes, easily available and very cheap. I know that you can buy a container of 1000 10mg tablets as in the past I've done it for someone. So no worries there for you.

No presecription required and there are several inexpensive locally made generic equivalents. I'd suggest Amitryptyline GPO.
