Abhisit says bomb attack was well organized

BANGKOK: -- Democrat party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva said the bomb attack at his home was well organized.

He said that whatever violent incident happened at his home or at other houses of the party members and the party head-office was related and well organized by political groups.

They have weapon, he said.

He also said that the arrest of four suspects in Bang Na last night with hand grenades and guns were denied by the police that they were involved with the bomb attack at his home.

In fact, he said that the police should investigate and find out what they would do with the hand grenades and where. He called on all his party members to take care of themselves and stay alert.

A team of Explosive Ordnance Disposal (EOD) police inspected Abhisit’s home on Sukhumvit 31 this morning. They found an M 26 hand grenade pin at the scene.

EOD police said the attacker hurled the hand grenade across the protective net and the grenade fell on the roof of the room where Abhisit’s father normally stays.

But nobody was inside the house last night.

Six surveillance cameras around the house and nearby might have captured the attacker. However after the attack, the surveillance cameras were all removed by the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration.

The police said they were contacting the BMA to get the tapes to hunt down the attacker.

Not that well organized, no one was home.

Sounds a bit sus, why would they take the cameras away? I don't get that bit.

It was well organised? That tends to discount government involvement.

Why take away the cams? Take away proof? Proof against their own people perhaps?

Weapons, arrests not linked to attack on Abhisit home

BANGKOK: -- Police yesterday arrested four people allegedly for unauthorised possession of explosives and firearms, found while their pickup truck was stopped at a checkpoint.

A police spokesman said later they had nothing to do with a grenade attack on the home of former Democrat Party leader Abhisit Vejjajiva.

Pol Maj-General Adul Narongsak said unspecified explosives found in the vehicle were of a different kind than those used to target Abhisit’s home.

Charged were three men - Suna Thinkaew, Anusorn Phinijkhun and Khamphrai Saengsawaeng - and one woman, Thanapha Denmart. Apart from explosives, a pistol and bullets were also found in the vehicle.

Meanwhile, four policemen in plainclothes were attacked and robbed on Tuesday night near Chulalongkorn Hospital by guards attached to the anti-government PDRC, a police spokesman said yesterday.

The four officers, attached to the Special Branch Bureau, sustained injuries and lost a number of personal belongings and a service motorcycle, said Pol Maj-General Adul Narongsak. Police are looking into the attack to find possible suspects.

The victims were on duty near the hospital and were forced at gunpoint by the attackers to move to near the PDRC rally stage at Lumpini Park.

They claim to have been beaten up, tasered and had their soles burned with lighters, before being released.

Then it would make sense to take them before the police did.

Did you even read the OP?

Did you see the picture of the hole in the roof in the other paper? Do fire crackers do that?

1 how organised do you have to be to lob a grenade ? raise arm pull pin and throw, not at all really rolleyes.gif

This most confusing BMA is democrat so if there is evidence it should be releasing it to the police and keeping a copy just to be sure, this makes no sense not to which leads me to wonder if there is more to this than the headline.

Its illogical goings on like this which leads to suspicion or doubt when it should be so easy to show clearly if someone was indeed caught on camera. I hate it when this goes on it just leaves everyone accusing with no evidence but a few words, an absent family anyway and a hole in a roof which the caretaker himself could have been ordered to do or a real opposition suspect we just cant say atm

bottom line i have no idea who has done it atm but nicking the tapes taking down the cameras with your own side when it could provide an answer is irresponsible at the least and suspect at the worst. Taking down the cameras i had to read that part again just to be sure.... bizarre activity imo very bizarre

What the tell give the BMA the right to remove the cameras unless they are trying to cover something up.

"It was well planned" ...of course it was , Abhisit was on the planning committee. BMA .. is that under the control of the Dems.

Staged the firecracker toss...oops what about those cameras. Can we pass a law that only applys to certain people in Thailand. It is now illegal to use the following words, 'educated' and 'middle class' in the same sentenced as to to not confuse the simple folk.

They must've been at the coffee shop at Democrat headquarters. Quite safe.

Its hard to accept the truth..even when it stares you in the face. For years you have fought it. Set yourself free from the lies you peddle. Not winning an argument for 3 years...I admire your tenacity but not your beliefs

The removal of the cameras can have two possible motives.

1... They were removed on the orders of Abhisit to preserve the actual footage before the police delete critical scenes from the footage.

2... They were removed on the orders of the police so they can delete critical scenes from the footage.

Meaning... Who got there first to instruct the BMA to remove the cameras?

Why remove camera?

BMA should be smarter by removing the tapes.

It seems you didn't read the OP either.

The recording isn't held in the camera, so there is no point in anyone removing them.

Unless this is just a reporting issue, and it was the tapes that were removed back at the office and the cameras are still where they should be.

It must have been a huge fire cracker to blow a hole in the roof.

They should have removed the cameras before the attack!

Not that well organized, no one was home.

Sounds a bit sus, why would they take the cameras away? I don't get that bit.

Because he is no longer the PM.

Possibly they knew no one was at home and that it would just cause damage and instill a little fear ( or propaganda) and not result in death or anyone being injured.

It sounds like most of the Thai Visa critics are fans of either the Road Runner or Chuck Norris and assume anything that goes boom should result in a body count.

Of course, it was well orgainzed and AV knew exactly that.

No doubt he organised it himself to get some attention how convenient he was away with his family.

In my opinion, the (pro-Democrat) BMA probably took them away because they don't trust the (pro-Thaksin) Police or the (pro-Thaksin) DSI. "Oops! I just pressed the delete button. Where has that Red Shirt attacker gone? Oh dear!"

They had grenades, Abhisit's house was bombed with a grenade, yet they say out of hand that it was not the same type of explosive so the two events are not connected. I don't think we should even bother to ask what forensic study they made to reach that conclussion.

Odds are that the case of this 4 is going to be archived in the same drawer as the case of the Red Shirt bomb maker that was receiving money from a PTP MP.

No doubt he organised it himself to get some attention how convenient he was away with his family.

Did you organise this suggestion all by yourself ,or did some school kids help you? whistling.gif There will be massive demo,s in Bangkok, our family home has been attacked before, I think it would be wise to go some place else, nice and safe, so I dont have to worry about my extended family being attacked. Sounds reasonable to me and smart.thumbsup.gif

.

I would have said "Very well organised, no one was home".

Let's have a look at the hole in the roof. Perhaps one of our military experts can give us an indication of the kind of damage such a device will cause.

Truth certainly hurts. It's simply astonishing that some of you on this forum always try to blame any bomb attack on Democrats or any anyone else who opposes the current government as a propaganda stunt without actually providing any shred of evidence for your ridiculous conclusions. If you paid more attention you would surely realize that the number of protesters dropped since 'someone' started committing acts of violence, Drive by shootings, occasional firebomb or hand grenade in the back yard, threats, etc...mainly against people who support anti-government protest in one way or another. It is obvious that people got intimidated and scared by those acts of violence so they stayed at home. So I would really like to hear from red supporters why on earth would Democrats or yellows as you call all people who oppose this joke of a government bomb themselves or shoot at themselves when it is crystal clear that violence is not benefiting them. The more violence, the less people on the streets. Enlighten us, please.
