English man caught in possession of 200g of Marijuana in Central Pattaya.

Officers from Pattaya Police Station were on routine patrol in the Central Pattaya area on Wednesday Night when then spotted a foreign man who appeared nervous when he spotted their distinctive Brown uniforms.

The Officers decided to approach the man who was driving his motorbike along Soi Jirapon. He was asked to pull-over and fully complied. A search of the man, later identified as Mr. Steven Church aged 42 from England, was conducted and he was found to be carrying a 200g packet of the class 5 drug Marijuana.

At Pattaya Police Station he gave no information on the origins of the drug but did claim the Marijuana was purchased for personal use only. He was charged with Class 5 drugs offences and is now in the hands of the Pattaya Provincial Court who will decide his fate.

Sentance? Probably a hefty fine, jail for a couple of months followed by deportation with a nasty stamp in the passport. Thailand are very serious about drug offenses, however unlikely that may seem.

The reason he won't roll over on the guy who sold it to him maybe because he is also a farang, possibly from his home town. If you send a dealer to a Thai nick then your family may be forced to bear the problems aswell. Deportation may be the least of your problems.

It may be just under half a pound or whatever but a couple of accomplished smokers heading to an island for a week would be able to make short work of it. Buckets, bongs chilums etc will be just the ticket for weed.

Also, we should not forget, he may have got a 'deal' for bulk buy. Not such a great deal now of course.

Well 200 grams is definately not personal use. he would definately got a better deal though buying in bulk, I used to be a very heavy smoker of the stuff and used to go through 20 grams aweek approx, thats being stoned everyday for 2 and a half months buy smoking it the pace i would plus the weed loses its potency the longer you have it.

Maybe this was not his first time in running the stuffs. He must have a good time enjoying the income. Black sheep farang like him that peddling drugs should be erase from pattaya and separate from the good farangs.

He is definately a dealer and should be locked up for a long time, because he is putting other people in a very dangerous situation with the harsh penalties there

I just weighed the small amount "for personal use" and it is like 2 grams and looks like more. I have had it for 3 months. In fact i had forgotten i had it until reading this!!

OK guys and gals, speaking from EXPERIENCE (and not saying I am proud of that!)

It only looks about 100 grams at most (about 4 ounces ; 28g = 1 ounce)

Although in England this would be about £200, in Thailand weed is quite cheap. Chances are this came from a Thai guy and as the weed is cheap, it suits the local dealers to sell in this amount as they make more money, less often.

I feel sorry for the guy to be honest, I mean, Ganga has been in use since at least Egyptian times, it's a natural plant and not addictive like class A drugs. A lot of people prefer it to alchohol for example and in England it is commonly accepted as a 'recreational' drug. PLEASE don't anyone bash me for my condonance of weed, just trying to give a perspective!! The guy was probably stoned and a little paranoid.

Pot is addictive, You just need to smoke it everyday to find that out yourself. It doesnt damage yourself like other drugs though, but taken in moderation its pretty much harmless.
