Popular Post noitom Posted January 23, 2014 Popular Post Posted January 23, 2014 But the US knows that it's all about a money grab in Thailand. So of course, the US wants the "Thai system" to continue. And for decades before, the US has been supporting various (all) corrupted governments in Thailand. 7

tonypace02 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 "We encourage all involved to commit to sincere dialogue to resolve political differences peacefully and democratically." This may not be possible in light of one side's sworn objective is to do away with the democratic processes entirely.

Tatsujin Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 I wonder how many of the audience managed to keep a straight face during the briefing. Based on the way she talks in her press interviews with the BBC et al, not very many . . . I for damn sure couldn't talk to her and keep a straight face . . . and she's the "face" of Thailand . . . pretty (ish) but brains and the ability to think/speak on her feet are not her strong suits . . . 1
ntg187 Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 The US calls for restraint of violence? Just hearing this makes me so mad at my own piece of shit government! How about the lack of restraint the NYC police showed the occupy wall street protesters? We are going to stand on an international pedestal and tell other countries how to handle themselves and then do whatever we want in our home? My government disgusts me. 2

Popular Post Sydebolle Posted January 23, 2014 Popular Post Posted January 23, 2014 The Americans - again. When will somebody stand up and tell them to shut up their face? One in seven on food stamps, political correctness created such idiocies like American-Americans, Afro-Americans and Asian-Americans. Where I come from we refer to Laotians, Vietnamese or Koreans. There is a reason why Europe never overdid it with silly denominations like Pilipino-Spaniards, Vietnam-Greeks or Burmese-Swiss.Without the American politics this world would be a nicer place. Tell them to go back to work and start paying off their debts before bad-mouthing about internal Thai affairs; we do not need those smart asses! 4
pipkins Posted January 23, 2014 Posted January 23, 2014 and respect the rule of law," US State Department spokeswoman Marie Harf said in a statement. Which rule of law is she referring to? She also said and democracy, but that just don't fit in some New [sic] articles these days does it? No place for a word like Democracy at the Nation?

Very similar to the way the US supported the corrupt governments in South Vietnam throughout the 1960's and early 70's. And look what happend there.
