A one-armed man slit the throat of a lesbian prostitute who was having an affair with a woman he had fallen in love with.

Police received a report of the attack just after midnight on May 6 and, of course, rushed to the scene, which was outside the Buakao Rama Cinema. However, the severely injured woman had already been taken to Pattaya Memorial Hospital in Central Pattaya.

Upon arrival at the hospital officers found the woman undergoing emergency treatment. She was identified as Miss Wilai Boonkum, age 47, a resident of Soi Buakao. The wound to her throat required 80 stitches.

Police officers questioned her after her throat had been stitched back together. Wilai hoarsely told officers that she had taken her girlfriend, 29-year-old Miss Renu Saenporn to see a movie at the Buakao Rama Cinema. A 45-year-old man named Saowaluk Hannarong, a left-arm amputee who worked as a shoe polisher for the tourists in the bars, had fallen in love with Renu. He found the two women watching a movie and assumed they were courting each other. He was jealous so he took Wilai’s arm and asked to speak to her outside the cinema. She followed him without realizing there was any danger, and Saowaluk took a cutter from his pocket and slit her throat.

Saowaluk ran from the scene of the crime and police are now searching for a dangerous one-armed jealous shoe polisher who’s attracted to lesbian prostitutes’ girlfriends.

In all fairness to the Op

I only mentioned the last line of the story out of the Pattaya mail as i found it funny. I did not mention the whole story or give the complete picture of the happenings as you did.

I'm rather surprised at Mobi for writting this. Isn't it time that people like Mobi stopped bashing Pattaya and trying to give it a bad name. I for one am sick and tired of this type of post and feel something should be done about it.

O.K I may not be the quickest on the block but where was the Pattaya bashing? Its an actual story out of the Pattaya mail

But come to think about it, news stories like this can do nothing but good for Pattaya's image. Should help attract ever more tourists - amputees, lesbians, shoe shiners, knife weilding murderers - to name but four minority groups.

Works for me. Seeing all these gorgeous images of perfection all the time makes me forget that there are other people in the world. People that aren't blessed with a figure suitable for display in certain "establishments".

Attracting more of those "other" types would dilute the current crop, and make the beautiful ones even more attractive ! Not that I'd probably notice any ways

And the oddest part about the wholestory is, it didn't involve a farang ! Hard to believe I know, but no farang was involved in this incident.

Just to be fair though, the shoe polisher probably did shine the shoes of some farangs at some point in his career. And there may have been a farang at that cinema at the same time as this incident. And farangs have been known to walk down Soi Buakao now and then, so you could say there was a farang connection to the story, however tenuous that connection may be.
