Camping at Phu Chi Fa forrest and hotels in Chiang Saen area

Wife and I will be driving from Bkk to Chiang Rai this week and plan to camp a few days at Phu Chi Fa. Does anyone have any info on camping there and also a reasonably priced hotel (B1000) in the Chiang Saen area?

Thanks for the info. Cold weather is what we are looking for. Was hoping to get a hotel name in that area (Chiang Saen) that others recommend rather then just stop at the first place we find.

Not sure about places to stay in Chiang Saen but we did a trip all around Chiang Rai and on the way from Phu Chi Fa we stayed at a really nice resort in Chiang Khong called Naam Khong. 600bht including breakfast and had a nice pool. It is on the main road through town on the left heading toward the Immigration crossing. In fact there seemed to be a number of nice places to stay there all very reasonably priced.
