tuky Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 I am looking to either buy, or make a slippery slide, slip n slide, slippery dip for my daughters. Does anyone know where I can buy one? or perhaps the materials to buy one? I am guessing to make one I would just need a 10m x 2m sheet of plastic. Does anyone have any advice? or locations where I can buy the materials?
MP5 Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 (edited) Try contacting the Warehouse in NZ. I've seen them there before just to get a price and you can be near sure they are made in Asia. Or 2 long sheets heat sealed with a hose connecton. small holes for lubricating water. We used to throw t-pol on ours as kids. Got make sure good grassy area, One of these awning guys might get the ide remember to put a proper hose connecter topcorner so water runs out of holes and down slide. Great fun. Could be a new market Good Luck Tuky Edited May 24, 2006 by MP5

penzman Posted May 24, 2006 Posted May 24, 2006 I was also going to suggest you buy the stuff at a local shop where they make awnings. Pour a bottle of baby oil on it and plant a lawn sprinkler near to it, the kind that goes "psst psst psst psst psst psst psst psst pst pst psst psst psst psst psst psst prstrstrstrstrstrst psst psst psst psst psst psst pst "" Don't spill the Chang!

Chang_paarp Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 (edited) For the slide you showed in your picture; A roll of plastic, just cut off what you need. Some diluted soap or washing liquid. A hose or lots of buckets of water. Rolls come in 100m length, so you can have a lot of fun. The detergent or soap will not affect the grass, most are so similar to fertilizer that it will help the grass. This acts as the lubricant for the kids. At the end of games just hose them off, no need to wash that night. If you want to get creative, something that increases the slope will make for more noise from the kids at the expence of higher blood pressure for parents. Just be carefull when pegging the plastic sheet out. Supervision recomended, just show the kids too many tricks too soon. See you do need the sprinkler now. Edited May 26, 2006 by Chang_paarp
tuky Posted May 26, 2006 Author Posted May 26, 2006 It is bikinis only though Prof. And brit tells me you look aweful in a bikini so your not invited. I was thinking some lengths of 1/2 inch poly pipe down each side to A) hold the form of the slide and attach a hose and use the pipe to make rain. The detergent comment is spot on, as it will break the surface tersnion of the dirt and let the water soak into the lawn.
ProfessorFart Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 I'll look better than Brit and thats no mistake Tuky!
Pink Mist Posted May 26, 2006 Posted May 26, 2006 mate of mine made one out of "Forticon" (the black or orange stuff they put under the steel in a concrete pour) so anyone pouring a slab around the area go ask mate
