Have you ever seen the collectable Jim Beam bottles? A friend found one at a sale that is a "Thailand A Nation of Wonders" model from 1969. She got it for me. This is 100 month old whiskey at bottling time in 1969 so it is now nearly 50 years old. Very smooth and not likely to make it to the 50 year mark.

LOL, just cracked it open last night. That is the bottle I have and it is ###### good. My father collected those bottles for years and as a teenager I grew very fond of the stuff. Thankfully he never noticed.

Oh cool, an airport topic. I love Changi myself. Clean, organized, stuff to do, fairly priced. Swampy is, as others have pointed out, waaay to crowded. Inchoen is my favorite because of food and facilties. Istabul is nice too but stupidly expensive.

As I have posted elsewhere they may decide to "give up" Kharg and put up a token resistance having already withdrawn all non essential personnel. As the occupation starts they can withdraw etc and let the US land and then starve/wipe them out at their lesure! How does seizing AND holding Qashm open the straights? Attacks on shipping can still continue without it! And pity the poor troops who once landed would be under constant attack with NO help from the local population or for reliable resupply from the US!.

Had a vivid conversation last night with a group of about 10 expat friends at a relaxing restaurant down in Silom that ended up going all over the place. The group was mostly men, but a few women as well. Basically all people who live and work here and have some sort of busy lifestyle, as opposed to many foreigners living here who no longer work and end up staying home with their own comforts in some form of isolation.
