Rayong DJ Arrested For Human Trafficking

RAYONG – February 19, 2014 [PDN]; at 1.00 a.m. Pol.Lt. Thawat Norsingha (Investigation officer on duty of Mueang Rayong police station) arrested Mr. Kriangkrai Narmsanit or K or DJ Bo aged 32, who is a DJ for a radio station in Rayong province, residing at house no. 45/12 Soi Nern Phra 2, Krok Yai Cha road, Tambon Nern Phra, Amphur Mueang, Rayong province, Miss Ammara Mek-aroon or Om, aged 20 and Miss Waranya Lorjit or Nam, aged 22, in the allegations of committing human trafficking. The officer seized the marked banknotes of 3,500 THB that were used to purchase a girl also 1 Nokia mobile phone, 1 bank book and 1 ATM card.

The police were informed that there was a prostitution service on a website that advertised sexual services by female students. The customers could contact them by sending emails and would then be contacted by a Mr k who arranges the girls. Therefore the officers made a plan to purchase 4 girls and asked them to meet them at Capediem Condo, on the Sukhumvit road, Tambon Nern Phra, Amphur Mueang, Rayong province.

I abhor human trafficking.

But whenever I read an article like this I wonder if the arrest was made for the human trafficking, or for not paying the fee to look the other way, or for competing with the established traffickers.

Agree. Especially when the usual traffickers are in uniform.

Still, hopefully separate charges for just being a DJ are being filed.
