To steer it back to the article; no one died on her little spontaneous shopping extravaganza that lacked forward thinking- just detained to be asked what the heck she was thinking- maybe NOT thinking was a contagious virus she got, after exposure to Ms. Swindler of the Isaan folk.

Nobody, I repeat NOBODY puts themselves into a situation that can escalate into a violent confrontation willingly unless they're either retarded or serving in an armed conflict, there's way too many variables to jeopardise yourself like that.

IF the answer is no, you would not, then please please for the love of God STOP taking your children to these protests due to the very nature of the ptential for violence, so that IF an incident occured, the little ones are at home, well away from harms way.. Use common sense, if you're all claiming tensions are high and things can get out of hand, do you want your kids to witness their parents getting beaten up, maimed or killed and vice versa, do you wish to see kids hurt and killed??

Nobody can predict where Terrorists can strike next, it's impossible to secure every location and potential target, but you can remain vigilant and minimise risks, I've see enough senseless killings out in Iraq, last thing I want os for the same thing to start happening in Thailand, and yes, I know it's happened, but not to the extent of the conflicts in places like Sri Lanka, and the likes of the Middle East. I've seen this in Northern Irelad in the 1980's and in the Mainland UK, sensless killing is all that it is..

This just reinforces the mindset indoctrination Suthep expressed on camera in an interview; that, "We [he and his colleagues] are the owners of Thailand." Now, if that is not an autocratic statement that reveals his true intent, nothing is.

I'm less than sure who disturbs me most in the current situation, those who are taking paramilitary action, and certainly like the paramilitary dress option, or the idiots that are pretending that this is all a jamboree to take the kids to, encourage the teenage daughter to meet her friends at, snap a few selfies at and take a look at the stalls.

I go further than Haggis in saying not only is the situation dangerous, but that the young should be encouraged to take a more considered view. Thailand is a very immature democracy, if democracy at all. The ill-considered football supporter, sloganizing, type of view that is modelled to young people, maybe even required of them by their parents, will not move Thailand toward democratic maturity.

Most considered opinion seems of the conclusion that Thailand is a kleptocracy. Political leaders are there to plunder, whether that be for their benefit or that of those in their network. It's very hard to argue against that view. A good starting point is to look at Suthep and the Shinawatras. Shades of degree, yes, but shades of intent, no. Instead of blind, sloganizing, support for the currently available elites, maybe the point is to feel that Thailand is worth better than a choice amongst thieves. Maybe it will never be, maybe it can never be, so ingrained is feudalism in Thailand, but in this football supporter maelstrom, people have even forgotten that as an ideal! And if it is a choice between thieves, it's quite possible that those with the highest satisfaction from the lowest headline figure from their skulduggery lay not in civilian Government.

ok there are clips on youtube that shows what actually hapend and a backstory to this.

Points of interest:

1) Miss Sunisa called a reporter saying she would be there that day. the reporter called PDRC

2) Miss Sunisa had 4(?) guards with her that ran away when the crowd saw her and was blowing whistles at her the crowd was angry with her being there. (not weird considering current events, and BTW this is a crowd not a mob they arent violent)

3) at first the guards wanted to escort her to her car but she refused. (saying she didnt dare to go with her as she is a woman and they are men and wanted to call her own escort....the guards who left her and ran away?)

4) PDRC leaders was upset and ordered her release not being fully briefed or what happend!

5) eventually they had to mask her and escort her back to her car. (her escort back was constituted by men and women for her personal safety and comfort doesnt feel like kidnapping to me).

Argument:

it could be claimed that she was arrested but it can also be claimed they where protecting her...the truth is probably a little of both but her safety was undoubtedly a serious issue.

Outcome:

She walked away without being hurt or injured in anyway. (what would happend with suthep if the government had managed to arrest him)

The constant references to female members of the caretaker government and their aides only being interested in shopping expeditions and beauty therapies is becoming increasingly tiresome.

The point surely is that any individual, particularly a female, should be able to move freely around Thailand without threats or intimidation regardless of their political persuasion

Also crushingly boring are the constant references to individuals, particularly females, as 'slaves', 'puppets', 'mouthpieces' of Thaksin. Of course they are supporters of the exiled premier, and would, no doubt, welcome his return to Thailand.

Incorrect Sutheps thugs, as you call them (Suthep's thugs is what you might mean) are not thugs. If they were they would have kicked her head in or something equally as horrid. Suthep himself said that he doesn't want the security to behave like this so you have to comment on the wider picture rather than post according to your preferred ideology. Secondly, this woman is a First Lieutenant - not an innocent child on the street. She is also on Thaksin's payroll, so I think she may well have had the presence of mind to deal with it in an adult way - and not with childish unintelligent comments that we often see on Thai Visa.
