Do Thai Nationals need a visa to visit Sri Lanka?

Featured Replies

Do Thais need a visa to visit Sri Lanka? If so is it on arrival?

I have tried to search on here and cant find an answer. Tried The Sri Lankan consulate website, but got confused as they use a visa company.

Cheers

Iain

In a word yes.

The cost is $30 for a 30 day visa and the whole process is quite simple

You will also need one.

You can apply online here..

http://www.eta.gov.lk/slvisa/

You can ask for the vfgr and they will gibe you one month at the costs of 50 us dollars

What is the vfgr and why would you want to spend an extra $20 dollars on a 30 day visa?

Applying online you actually get an electronic travel authorisation for an initial stay of 30 days.

This can be extended for up to three months which in my opinion is quite generous.

Last week I applied online for myself and a Thai national. Very simple process, and received approval in 24 hours. US$30 each for 30 days, extendable.

You can still get them at the embassy if you prefer, but doing it online is much easier than going to the embassy and standing in line then coming back a second time to pick up your passport.
