I heard that AIS was putting up additional "dishes" for the increased telephone demand and that they were starting with the 06 number. A friend has an 06 number and his phone was completely out of service for a day.

I sure hope they do something as mine is almost useless in the evenings. I don't use it except for business related things, so it's particularly upsetting. When I use it, I need it!! I spent 20 minutes at about 4:00 at the gate to a factory trying to get a hold of the guy inside who had to authorize my entry. We agreed that I would "just call him when I arrived." Big mistake! I figured that in the afternoon it should be ok.

AIS has been almost completely down since the beginning of the month but according to public announcements yesterday full voice service should have been restored. They advised those still having trouble to turn phone off/on several times and if that did not work to contact the call center. That was at noon yesterday. Most people seem to have service now as there were several threads about it which have cooled down. But believe MMS is still out from one report.

My wife and I both have "01" contract numbers and don't seem to have had any problems.

Howevert, the other day, I tried to call someone with an 07 prefix all day long and finally gave up. Only once did I get a message to say"no signal" , the rest of the time just silence. I was supposed to meet him and had to give up. He told me later that his phone was on the whole time.

Glad I'm retired. :o
