dropped my faithful old Iphone 4 today and smashed the front glass , still works but needs replacing , is it viable or am i in for a replacement ? can i get this done in most phone shops or must be an apple dealer , i am in Isaan ...

If it's out of warranty then the local shop can just replace the digitizer (front glass)

1 year back, happened the same to my phone 4s, at AIS service center told me will cost 7990 THB, but I changed the screen of my iphone 4s at somewhere in china town, cost me 1800 THB only and worked as usual, till I bought a new one.

Just 7990 for a new glass . Um ! Both AIS and True are currently doing new iPhone 4s for 7450. Offer end Monday. Bought 2 yesterday (don't bother to ask why) from True. They'ed let me buy only 1 on a credit card which they then photocopied and asked me to sign the photocopy. Some hope.
