Another new Restaurant

Featured Replies

Right up front I will state that I have no commercial interest in this place.

A few days ago I had lunch at David's Kitchen in Sanpiisua, and a very enjoyable experience it was. The venue is in large grounds that run down to the river and provide spacious and quiet surroundings only a few minutes drive from the city.

The menu is largely French/Italian cuisine, with a small Thai selection. The salmon spicy salad and the fried fish with spicy apple salad that we had as starters were really pleasing. My friend had snow fish as his main course which was perfectly cooked & accompanied with a small salad and french fries. I had a smoked duck salad which was delicious, fragrantly smoky and most enjoyable. The coconut and lemongrass ice creams were a splendid end to a most pleasing meal.

The wine list is quite extensive and varied, with prices that range from the high hundreds into the thousands. The recommended Australian wine we had was a fitting complement to our food.

It is easy to find if you follow the road along the river from the inner ring road towards the outer ring road. It is on Google Maps, and the address is 90/9, Moo 3, Sanpiisua Road, Sanpiisua.

A great new place for a superior lunch or dinner. Prices range from 200 thb to 700 thb for a la carte entrees. The special lunch menu for 199 thb is excellent value for a main course plus a desert.

Without doubt we will return.

I just did a quick google search and saw that it is indeed no. 1 on Tripadvvisor. It looks impressive and well worth a try, I think.

Nothing against David's Kitchen, but I have seen some very suspect restaurants get to #1 on Trip Adviser. IMO, there are too many fake reviews to pay it much attention in that regard. However, I have heard good things about David's Kitchen from other sources that I trust more.

It's our wedding anniversary on Saturday and it's a toss up between DK and The Edge which appears to be a similar style and cuisine.

From my experience at a Christmas lunch party there, the Edge will not disappoint and is a romantic spot for an anniversary. Congratulations!

Either starve before though or head for the gym next day=portions are generous!

Congratulations - our wedding anniversary is on Friday and funnily enough DK is on our list of options as well ;)
