for those who saw the match winning goal how many would have done what he did.

picking the ball up 5yds inside his own half, pushing it forward past the defender, then raceing along the touch line only to be taken out almost up into the tapas bar,

first how many players would have gone down? I can think of a few one who wasn't playing.

but no he carried on out srinting his marker then slipping the ball past the advancing skipper[skill, nerve, and not having the will to cheat] and yes if he had gone down I am sure he would have got a player sent off.

so boyo you done us all proud and I am sure you earned a bag of nuts off CARMINE.

Yes - great goal, but I'm not sure he was 'taken out' on the touchline. Many refs would have ruled it a fair shoulder charge. I can't tell from the video how much was pure shoulder and how much was arm, but a lot of refs seem to accept a bit of arm these dayslaugh.png

Nice goal by monkey boy but how bad was the defending by that Barcelona player!!  I didn't believe professional footballers could be that slow.  Well thats unless infact Gareth is faster than Usain Bolt.

I believe it can only be a fair shoulder charge when both players are going together for the ball. Bale pushed the ball 10 yards pat the defender and was then shoulder charged. Brilliant goal by a great player!

For 86m he couldn't have left fast enough.

Theres no doubt that Gareth is developing into a very fine player and i had no qualms whatsoever him going to Real Madrid.  My problem with him is the manner in which he went about it.  There was no reason for him to disrespect the club and the fans by going on strike to force a move that for 86m was always going to happen.  No one would have turned that down so why behave in that manner.

Is it really necessary to have a thread about a player that looks more suited to a PG Tips commercial and thinks its fashionable to prance about wearing speedos and a pink baseball cap?

If your summer spending spree had worked out, you wouldn't be bitching about him now, would you carmine?

Have a pint of bitter with your sour grapes mate.

Oh really.  Well if you had taken to time to actually read my post you would know you are talking sh1te.

Theres no reason for bitterness when you've just made 86m.  Getting a bit desperate for a wind up these days aren't you.

Next season will be the better judge on how well the money was spent.

Obviously Soldado's been a disaster, and i really don't understand why Chiriches was bought because he doesn't seem to me a step up from Caulker.  Capoue, when fit has been good but whilst everyone seems all to eager to claim the money was wasted in truth if Paulinho makes a full adjustment to the league and Lamela gets fit and plays as we know he can then the money has been well spent.  Better wait and see Bob.

I seem to remember Jordan Henderson being rubbish in his first season at Anfieldwink.png

I am a Barca fan, but I have to admit that Bale's goal was fantastic!...What a revenge for the goal by Alexis to win the last Barca-Real!!!

Bad luck for Neymar...He was too close to a winning goal for Barca....Football it is unpredictable! Great match!!!

I did read your post. Your hero has suddenly become "a player that looks more suited to a PG Tips commercial and thinks its fashionable to prance about wearing speedos and a pink baseball cap".

The anger and bitterness are palpable old chap. Really you should be blaming Baldini for squandering the money you made on him.

Thats cobblers pal.  Your clearly confused.  Gareth's always looked like a monkey as has been referred to as such on here for years, he's always displayed appalling dress sense but thats his business.

My interest in Gareth was purely the Spurs employee.  A world class player such as he has every right to play in the CL for the biggest club in the world,  I didn't like the manner of his actions to force his move.  try not to distort my posts.

You'll really have to do better than that you know!

Got a way to go before he beats Ryan Giggs.

No Chic, I mean Bale's had about 2 good seasons, compared to Giggs's 20.

Long long way to go, despite the high class prozzie price tag...

Yes, but if he wants to be remembered like Giggs is, he's going to have to shag his brother's missus.

Oh Chic, he probably already has.

1 Point of fact is, that if I disliked players because of what they did off the pitch, I wouldn't want anyone in the United team as they're mostly a set of t w a t s...!!

Another is that no matter what Bale does, he will very likely never get anywhere near Giggs on the field exploits and to be lauding him in a thread like this after a couple of seasons, is frankly rediculous. I wasn't overly keen on the Messi one, at least he's had a few more massively consistent seasons.

Well it seems no-one considered Giggs to be a galactico, or he was afraid to stick his neck out and ply his trade in Europe.

Think of all that foreign fanny he could have had.

as this thread is about g.b.great goal he scored for r.m. I saw another one scored last week which I still cant believe it,scored by none other than BERBATOV, standing with the ball at his feet about 5mtrs. from the goal almost on the dead ball line with a defender facing him and the goalie ready to cut out the cross, now here's one for what happens next,he lifts  the ball over the defender and the goalie and into the net as cool as a cu.then just walks away as if he had been on the training ground.

Cantona revisited that one.

Just missing the imperious look around the stands that followed. I reckon that Cantona moment was the greatest ever celebration of a goal by a striker on a football field and just shows you don't need to rush away from your mates co-players and slide theatrically along the ground.
