อะหยัง - Anyang maybe?

What does that mean in Thai or am I reading it wrong ...?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

It is the Isaan word for อะไร(what)

Ah ok, I just asked my friend and they said same in the north...do isaan and the north speak the same similar ..?

Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

อะหยัง a-yang is northern Thai while the isan variety is อีหยัง ee-yang

Some words are similar or the same in northen Thai and isan languages.

Actually the yang is pronounced with a sound similar to the Spanish ñ ñang.

IPA would be ɲaŋ

So it's pronounced and spelt nyang

Yeah, like nyang, but not like ny-ang, but nyang in one syllable. Also, there's the tone.

I'd say this word would be one of the most difficult to pronounce by foreigners, and even by people who only know the Bangkok dialect. The ɲ sound doesn't exist at all in standard Thai. Especially if it comes at the beginning of words, it'd be very difficult to pronounce by somebody not used to it.

Similar situation with the ng sound at the beginning of words. Very few European languages has this sound at the beginning of words.
