ISA will be possibly renewed as politics heat up

BANGKOK, 27 April 2014 (NNT) – The Center for the Administration of Peace and Order (CAPO) will ask the Cabinet to extend the enforcement of the Internal Security Act (ISA) for 30-60 days following its assessment that the political situation is likely to escalate.

Deputy Commissioner-General of the Royal Thai Police Pol.Gen.Woraphong Chiewpreecha said the CAPO would meet on 27 April on its request for an ISA extension the center hoped it would help keep the situation under control.

Meanwhile, Permanent Secretary for Defense Gen.Nipon Thonglek said Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra had instructed the military to ensure security for all military officers operating near protest sites.

During the last meeting of the Council of Defense, the premier stressed that the military should be nonpartisan and act as a sanctuary for the people.

As no one was aware of the Internal Security Act being already in place, it's not likely it's renewal will suddenly endow CAPO with abilities it's lacked for the past six months. In terms of Yingluck's gratuitous remark about the military being nonpartisan and prompting them to act as a sanctuary for the people - the odd thing is that the army really is ( unlike CAPO ) providing sanctuary for the people. But the fact that Pheu Thai views that as partisan certainly raises an eyebrow or two.

The reason for increased security for military operating near the protests is that an officer was shot at and beaten by Issara's 'guards' yesterday. Seems it doesn't rate a mention in The Nation.

It did strike me as funny that she is talking about the role of the army in that tone and CTPM and CT Defence Minister yet the CT Minister for Labour and the (dick) Head of CAPO is talk about using special forces to get rid of the leadership of PRCD.

Indeed, it made an inside page story in the BP. Curiously the mad monk asserted that the army Colonel was drunk when he moved a "barrier" and even more bizarrely claimed that the Colonels superior had told Issara that he appeared drunk. Mmmm, let me think about that, just how likely is that to be happen?

Still moving barriers is a serious offence in the PDRC's eyes so he probably was asking to be assaulted and shot. whistling.gif

Oops, the incident has just been posted up - but it's a Khaosod article, that'll get the frothers going.

Chalerm has got used to the 5 star meals and bonuses and wants to keep the money rolling in.

Spend is reported up to close to 4 billion now.

If he needs some more violence to justify continuing the ISA then I am sure he knows who to ask. Issan Rambo will be more than happy to oblige.

try looking at lines 5-6 even without mentioning his name its obvious is it not...or am i being obvious...

A most probably drunk officer who messed around

This ISA has been in effect now since the SOE was ended. During this time the ISA had done absolutely nothing newsworthy that i have read about.

It gives the CAPO more power to spend more money and allows Chalerm to use it as an excuse to use force against people should he wish. An extension would be needed if the CAPO used it to help stop the bombings and shootings and attacks near important figures in this political deadlock. Buy Chalerm is only concerned with getting to the PDRC. So he will use it only to pay his special forces and his fine meals and wines or for more ear medicine.

Perhaps you should learn to read what isn't there.

The Nation most likely believes it's a load of rubbish like many others do.....!

Someone is making money from all this ISAs. They don't accomplish anything and all the blockade are jocks and people guarding them either sleep or drinking

the violence will come from the reds and chalerm knows it so he wants to be able to help them accomplish their goals. This is a load of sh*t and everyone knows it as they are doing absolutely nothing to stop any violence, they even allowed the reds to run away to another country to avoid arrest all with ptp favour. These drop kicks are totally hopeless and all they are trying to do is stall their demise, pity someone cant lob a grenade into capo hq and give a break from these total f***wits

No, I couldn't see any mention of that shooting in the 'Nation'.

But the headline story (Sunday) in the 'Nation' was about Prem's deal with some council of the good people to arrange a takeover of Thailand. So I'm sure everything in Thailand will be absolutely fine.

Oh, it's so good to know that we are in safe hands here. I hope they'll ban the bad bad articles and books by the nasty Thaksin people (oh they are so evil evil).

Ah, when I return to Thailand I'll be able to sleep easily again, knowing that the bad bad Mr Thaksin has been banned forever here, and the good council of the good people can spread their goodness. Then we can live for evermore in the safe RBSC Bangkok that is Thailand.

Why are you making stuff up? The officer was not in uniform, he stopped his car and got out and was moving the orange cones that marked the perimeter of the 'safety zone'. He, being a 'big shot', and didn't want to drive around them as everyone else had and he was shot in the foot. He was not beaten. The guards who shot him came to visit him in the hospital to apologize; they didn't run off or stay anonymous. They manned up and acknowledged they made a mistake. That's something that not even one Red terrorist has done. The Reds are the chicken sh*t cowards who lurk about at night, ambushing people and public institutions. The story was widely reported in the Nation and, just because you don't pay attention, you say it didn't rate a mention. BTW, another of your falsehoods is: The reason for increased security for military operating near the protests The OP merely stated: Prime Minister Yingluck Shinawatra had instructed the military to ensure security for all military The OP never said the military increased security near the protests. You are a terrible propagandist and can always be depended on to lie and distort to defend the criminal, fugitive, ex prime minister Thaksin and his puppet governments. Why do you hate Thai people so much? Why are you such a hateful person to always be spreading your lies and propaganda that you know is not true?

Shame they have never increased security or succeeded in protecting innocents murdered by random bombings and shootings; or managed to catch the culprits.

You know, like the children murdered whose murder was applauded on stage by red shirt leaders and cheered by their sheeple. "Now they won't be against us when they grow up" - wonderful people your reds.

They caught reds with grenades of the type and with identifying numbers to those used in attacks - just a coincidence apparently.

CAPO would like to keep going as long as possible - access to all that lovely budget. There only function is as an intimidation agency of the Thaksin regime. They have achieved nothing apart from issue threats and make predictions of violence, which strangely happen as predicted.

Nice that you support your colleagues incorrect statement. Oh, he didn't see it himself in the Nation? Then guess his assertion it didn't rate a mention in the Nation was just and honest mistake. Not a deliberate lie aimed to mislead at all.

Amazing how Thaksin, his regime and clan members and even their farang supporters are all plagues by "honest mistakes" every time they get caught lying.

Love the way Yingluck issues these commands - increase safety, sell rice, stop the violence in the South, hold an election, stop corruption (none in her administration though of course) etc etc etc.

She clearly applies the same principles she used when a successful business mandarin employed by her brother. Issue commands and delegate. Follow up, get involved, lead - no, that's for the plebs and hired help.

She still believes she is taken seriously, poor lass.

Imagine her version of history - and then the caretaker PM/DM commanded all the people to love one another, work hard and return to their homes. Peace and prosperity returned to the kingdom thanks the the wise leader and her industrious cabinet and they all lived happily ever after. whistling.gif
