Where To Replace Car Tyres In Pattaya?

Can anyone advise where to get my Ford Escape's tyres replaced?

There's about 60,000 kms on the clock and I'm sliding all over the road - even in the dry! :o

On sukhumvit rd going from pattaya tai towards pattaya klang try the Bridgestone showroom (proper glass fronted etc).

:D

I bought my last set of tyres from Bridgestone and they did a pretty good job. I'd use them again. :D

I wouldn't recommend Potenza's though... I have done only 25,000 km's on mine and I need new rear tyres already. They must be a soft compound. Strange how the rear tyres wore out earlier that the front ones on a front-wheel-drive... :o

The problem could be alignment i.e. steering and suspension misaligned...this can cause excessive wear.....so too can over or under inflation or carrying excessive loads. :D

Don't know the name of it. but again on Suk towards Bangkok past the Kasikorn branch on the left after the hospital big sign DUNLOP,have most of my work done there.Always get excellent service. This time I needed new oversize tyres all round for my Suzuki. Needed Goodyear to match the originals that had done nearly 70,000kms already had a quote of 2600 each. They took me over to their other branch on the other side of the road checked they had in stock, pushed them down to 2200 fitted and balanced.Even got a tracking check and adjust for free. And a free Mitchelin teeshirt!Recommended.

The majority seem to go for Bridgestone (which is what I've got now and they've done 60K) so I'll give them a go this morning. A guy last night did say that the place in Naklua is good, but I'll try Bridgestone. Is this 'Dunlop' place called Potenza's?

Anyway thanks everyone. :D

Agree Chaiyapoon. There is a guy working there nicknamed Name(really) who speaks reasonable english.

Went to Bridgestone showroom(as Dave mentioned) asking for prices on a set of wheels.

Thought it was a bit on the expensive side, so off to the "Dunlop" shop. Saved me 15k Baht on the exact same wheels and tires!!!

Also excellent service and friendly.

Will definately go there again.

/edit Mobi (and Jai Dee)

Regarding the Potenza HERE is a little info I found by a quick google search. Whilst Jai Dee got 25k out of his rear wheels his front look like they still 10k left in them.

Our car is sitting on 38k at the moment with original Bridgestone Turanza's sitting at about half their life.

Hm... Didn't make it down there yesterday - such a lazy bastard!

Now I'm confused. It's 3 for Bridgestone, and 3 for "dunplop" (including a verbal recommendation).

Decisions decisions.... :o

Sounds like you have a serious alignment problem, unless you are indulging in a lot of handbrake turns.....look at the car from a distance...is it crabbing? Have you owned it from new?

The alignment seems fine... and no... although it is a pseudo sports car... I don't do any "circle work" or handbrake turns.

:o

I have owned it from new... and the wear is evenly spread across the rear tyres.

Wear is evenly spread across the front tyres too... just not as much. :D
