Life in HuaHin & Cha am

Hi guys, sorry if this has been discussed before, I have now ruled out living in Pattaya, and am back to my first choice of HH or CA. But whats it really like living there? Anyone with experience I would appreciate your thoughts. I am 60, married to a thai, have a son, am fit and healthy!! love fishing, gym, golf, socialising, and luv the odd beer or two!! Currently live in England, but am getting disillusioned with life here. Hopefully wont get too many negatives, but if so, ok, would love to know if life's treating you guys well, in the LOS! Thanks in advance, Steve

If you 60 then HH or CA are probably the best places for you as a lot of the Expats are of similar age

As for "gym, golf, socialising, and luv the odd beer or two!" plenty of fishing and golf, plenty of bars in HH but not over the top ones like in Pattaya, lots of gyms in HH, not sure about CA as I don't live there

This place may not be the fun capital of the world but it's an easy place to live. Infrastructure is excellent, immigration helpful, clean and plenty of good shops, restaurants and a very cosmopolitan community. I've lived here for 6 years having spent a lot of time in other areas of Thailand and have no hesitation in placing Hua Hin tops.

Btw, Is it cheaper to live in Cha Am? I also hear that CA has more to offer in terms of beach and scenery, plus its saving grace being not that far from HH, just in case you have occasional cravings for “the cosmopolitan life”? Anyone who could offer a practical comparison between the two places would be much appreciated, thanks.

I've been debating setting up base for three to six months in either Chonburi or Hua Hin... Married, aged 38 and we have a three year old. Being close to a beach is important to us but also being close to an airport as we will be travelling a lot internally. Any views would be appreciated. (Sorry for hijacking thread)

I live 5 minutes just outside Cha Am.....a small village with quite a few expats....mostly brits..all good guys....20 minutes to HH..

Property hereis relatively cheap compared to HH....but does not have the convenience of HH. However, there is much less traffic
