can you imagine an American General 'Suspending the Constitution'? maybe in a US TV series but this is 'supposed to be' REAL LIFE

Can you compare Thailand with the USA ?

Can you imagine how it would look if Obama would change the heads of the police to suit his needs ?

Can you imagine someone like Charlem as a politician in the USA with what he done for his son or what he is still doing.

Can you imagine a senator in the USA voting for other senators and then under oath lying about it ?

Can you imagine that secretly an amnesty for a high profile convicted criminal was added ?

Its crazy to compare a mature western Democracy with what we have here in Thailand. Until the constitution will curtail power abuse and corruption Thailand will never progress.

The U.S. doesn't abide by the constitution. If anyone thinks that the government you see on T.V. is running the United States, you're extremely naive...........

Sadly I think that the latter is more likely at this juncture. The military knows that they acted in an illegal fashion, so why not just suspend the constitution to hide your illegal activities I didn't think this would happen until a certain someone passed, now it will be interesting to see if foreign assets are frozen in the kingdom, if they are then those hedge funds and money managers who pulled their investments out of Thailand over the past 6 months will look like geniuses alt=thumbsup.gif>

First you control the streets then you control the government, then you control all mass media, then you set curfews and of course you suspend the constitution so that there is no action that you can take that would be deemed illegal. didn't have to step down. So when Thaksin rejected Prayuth's proposal for the caretaker PM

to step down he had to do what he had to do. Som num na Khun Thaksin, you lost!

According to MIchael Yon, he posted on Facebook there is information that Thaksin's sister

and brother-in-law have fled the country.

So the plot thickens, but we still have Internet, so all's good!

What a narrow minded comment. The thai people and the country lost today, this effects everyone here. In a year or two when elections happens again the same people will win again. That is if the new constitution is without the people from Bangkok getting their vote to count as double or only .25%. of the lower and upper house to be filled by elected officials and the rest nominated.
