Just to point out "Roti" are usually thin like British pancakes.

(Also no baking powder in British pancakes)

Last time I was in CM, I had a fantastic plate of pancakes at the restaurant/coffee place that is adjacent to Burger King near the Thapae gate. Prepared with bananas and carmelized nuts, yum. Can't remember the name of the place though.

Butter is Better has the best pancakes I've had in Asia. Have had their buttermilk, whole wheat and blueberry pancakes - all excellent! So big though they'll fill you up and not leave much room for other items. Good value too.

Have had pancakes at many hotel breakfast buffets around Asia including several 5 star places, and they are usually tasteless aside from whatever you put on top of them.

The IHOP photo got me looking forward to my next stateside trip! So wish we had IHOP and BOB EVANS here in Chiang Mai!

Most places in Chiang Mai use pancake batter for waffles, but Butter is Better uses a yeast-leavened waffle batter that has to be aged overnight. IMO their waffles are much superior to typical waffles in Thailand.
