I visited few banks and all of them charge 1-2% to deposit USD to your FCD account. You're giving bank money they can use and they charge you for that. Seriously? Any options to avoid that fee?

The last time I had one and deposited $US by TT they charged their usual TT fee but certainly not 1-2%.

yeap, seems that should be the only fee for deposit....that is, the TT fee of 0.25% (Bt200 min, Bt500max). But it's the withdrawal fee of 0.25% or Bt500 min that can eat your lunch. Here's the Bangkok Bank link for their FCD fees. Link.

Whether it be bills, checks , or travelers checks it needs to be processed therefore the banks are going to make you pay for it, not surprising to me

They will sell it, obviously. I haven't seen such fee in any other country I've been.
