French police to expel migrants from Calais camps

CALAIS: -- Police in the northern French city of Calais are set to remove about 800 migrants from Asia, the Middle East and Africa occupying camps near the port.

The authorities say the evictions are needed to deal with an outbreak of scabies in the camps, where numbers have swelled in recent months.

Police surrounded the site after a deadline for people to leave expired.

The migrants have been trying to get to Britain, and say they have nowhere else to go after the camps are destroyed.

They should get a bloke on a microphone to tell these people that,

"English folk CANNOT bring their foreign wife of many years to England unless they have an income or cash at a level ENGLAND states, so you lot bugger off".

Well said Transam,

What makes me particularly angry ( to put it mildly) is that these so called "persecuted migrants" have already travelled through several European countries to get to the Channel ports...and we all know why don't we!! One migrant about two years ago at the Songatt camp was quoted as saying "I want a British Passport, then my family can join me"bah.gif

They are needed to create opportunities for the Eu,, We should welcome them as they enrich our multicultural society. They are a motivating tool for our workers when they are present , you always have to work harder.

Nice one Shirtless,

Love the sarcasmthumbsup.gif Also, judging by the recent polls in Europe it seems like more people are finally getting p****d off with the crazy state of affairs.

The last thing, the uk needs. Is more immigrants.

Half of them will end up in the UK. When my brother was a police officer at the end of the tunnel, so many immigrants came over illegally that they had nowhere to detain them. So they drove them up the motorway and in UK parlance told them to get out of the van and "'op it!".

Posted

I worked at the Channel Tunnel and every day illegal immigrants stole a ride to UK on the Shuttle.

The only time the police were interested in dealing with them was if they were walking on the M20 ouside the Tunnel campus.

The area surrounding the Sangatt end of the tunnel is a "territorial concession" and is legally part of England. A reciprocal arrangement is in force at Folkestone.

There are British Customs, Immigration and Police stationed at the French end who do absolutely SFA to stop the illegals getting on trains.

Well done "les flics"

I guess.

Now we of course must welcome oppressed minorities/refugees from;

Nigeria...Syria...CAR...Somalia...Cameroon....Burma....Ukraine.....Russia.....China....Iran.....Iraq....Libya.....Chad.....Egypt....etc....etc....etc

This will ensure the multi cultural society that left wing socialists and liberals welcome.

Meanwhile the present population has to support them, medicate them ,feed them, house them, educate them and find them jobs. And these jobs? Are they created out of thin air or are they handed out at the expense of the present native population.

No. I don't want a multi cultural society. I am happy with the society I already have.

Genuine refugees would be happy to stop at the first European country they landed in.

France should take responsibility for those encamped in the shanty towns at Calais instead of trying to dump them in

the UK.

Yes Jay....but surely the responsibility for these people lies with the country they came from.

Many of their countries are corrupt beyond belief. They have resources but they all disappear into the pockets of whoever is in charge, and of the army.

Also....many.many are economic parasites eager to feed on a generous welfare system that is better than middle class in their own country.

We just can't support this tidal wave any longer. Europe is in a bad enough mess already without taking on responsibility for the worlds problems.

Am sitting in work, and we just had a very weird debate about the benefits of the EU.

It ended with believe it or not "why can't a company hire a Bulgarian if they are the best man for the job".

That was the piece de resistance. Going to be a very interesting few months for politics in the UK.

This from today's UK newspaper the Independant.

French government officials angrily reject allegations sometimes made in the British press and by British poiticians that they are, complicit in the constant build-up of migrants in Calais. They accuse the British government of failing to make it clear to English-speaking that would-be asylum-seekers if they can only breach the barrier of the Channel - are guaranteed an El Dorado in the United Kingdom.

Why the frig are they there in the first place?/

What the hell is wrong with Europe????

Doesn't EU law require these people to be accepted in the first EU country they arrive at?

The French have encouraged this situation over many years by permitting these Camps to be created.

It must be so embarrasing for the French who think so highly of their country, that there are so many migrants not wanting to live in that country and put up with terrible hardship in camps, just to escape from France.

Depends on whom came from where, and where whom want to go........Those with nothing want the yellow brick road, those with something want to just carry on with what they worked for, including their sacrifices along the way, and do something...........thumbsup.gif

Don't know if that makes sense........facepalm.gif .............laugh.png

They do indeed.

It baffles us here in Ireland when we now have 40,000 Nigerian refugees in the country ....and we have no air link with Nigeria. The same applies to most other countries from Ireland. I have no idea how they manage to get in.

I have no issue at all with constructive immigration...when they come to the table with something to offer. But they don't. Most are broke and need to have millions spent on them for many years.

Agreed.

Constructive immigration .Yes.

Destructive immigration. No

The time has passed and now Europe has left the door open for far too long. Too many demand rights but ignore their responsibilities.

That figure looks a little bit suspect to me for a small country like Eire. Where did you get it?

No, they should go to Brussels and see the head of the european council Herman Van Rompuy

im sure he'll be able to accommodate them.
