Press association president nabbed for ordering his wife’s murder

SADAO: -- The president of the Southern Press Association was today (Wednesday) arrested by police on murder charge for allegedly plotting the murder of his wife.

Three other people were also arrested on the same charge of homicide for the murder of Mrs Wanpen Maneerungsakul on May 31 at a rubber plantation in Sadao district of Songkhla.

Police alleged that Mr Chaiyong Maneerungsakul who is also a member of the advisory board of the Southern Border Provinces Administration Centre hired the three men to kill his own wife for 500,000 baht.

The three suspects were reported to have told the police that they were told by Mr Chaiyong to wait for Mrs Wanpen at the rubber plantation and killed her once she stepped out of her car.

Once arrived at a spot in the rubber plantation in her car, one of the three suspects opened fire on her but the gun went dud. Then the second suspect stabbed her until she died.

The four suspects are being held at Sadao district police station. All have denied the charges.

When the story 1st came out most people concluded, including myself that the husband was involved. A kindergarten child could have come up with a better lie than the husband tried to feed the police.

I for one would have been utterly disappointed if it turned out that the husband

didn't do it....

He deserves all he gets for the murder, for hatching such a ridiculously amateurish plan and for thinking his story would be believed.

I sorta thought it was believable , sort of, until he opened he's mouth.cheesy.gif

Too much sniffing rubber here. Another failed plot by dummies.

I'm just stunned at how feeble their cover story was.

All he gets for hatching a crap plan and thinking he would be believed, and not murdering his wife? blink.png

Knowing how things go here it had to be the Mad Monk

It reads " all he gets for the murder ... ". Don't get your point.

"The three suspects were reported to have told the police that they were told by Mr Chaiyong to wait for Mrs Wanpen at the rubber plantation and killed her once she stepped out of her car."

"The four suspects are being held at Sadao district police station. All have denied the charges."

so which is it? they confessed and then denied the charges?

Whoever wrote this story needs to be charged with something...

In the past status, money, and connections in high places, meant that one could get away with many crimes. But, now things have changed, because everyone is equal in the eyes of the military. “If you do the crime, then you must do the time.”

You're right Chooka.

He would of have been much better taking her to a restaurant and claiming his sub machine gun accidentally went off whilst cleaning it at the table in between courses. rolleyes.gif

Nah, no one would believe that, would they? whistling.gif

Lets hope he doesn't bribe his way out of this, such a horrible person.

I second that as he is obviously wealthy, let's hope for once the wheels of justice are not stopped by blocks of baht.

Well they come up some really imaginative and original stories/excuses. You could write a coffee table book on all the Thai excuses.

You think there will be such changes?

Just normal reporting, it's called hedging your bets, and then maybe it's just slack useless reporting / proofing.

Pathetic, isn't it? they need to get a few native English speaking kindergarten kids to proof read their articles prior to publication.

Well done. I dub thee "Chooka Sherlock" ! biggrin.png

Yeah, seems hard to believe, doesn't it? but then someone (authorities) seem to have believed it.

Yes, our own Chooka had this one sorted in 2 seconds.

Yes.

Changes? I would start to believe that after i'd have seen those 4 thugs rotting in prison

Yes, me tooo cheesy.gif

Seemed like a really good idea at the time...cheesy.gif

The president of the Southern Press Association was today (Wednesday) arrested by police on murder charge for allegedly plotting the murder of his wife.

Yes the good ole MEDIA.

Journalists are "Guns for Hire " by media corporations whose principal aim is to maximize profits.

Why didn't he get a journalist to do the job for him? cheesy.gif

As President of a Media operation he has probably overseen or edited out hundreds upon hundreds of stories where criminals have escaped through bribery, corruption or just plain incompetence of the justice system, mostly the police. So maybe he thought it was so easy he would have a go himself, assuming of course he actually did it as reported.
