Bangkok City Suites Petchburi Road

Featured Replies

I've done a search and found a few references to the Bangkok City Suites, but was wondering if anyone had any experiences, good or bad. Looking for a place for a few days in November/Dec for myself, wife and two young children. We usually hit the road all day after breakfast so don't need anywhere fancy or with a lot of facilities, just somewhere safe and clean and peferably which provides breakfast . The wife came across Bangkok City Suites on a Thai website and it looks interesting, but I can't find any reviews on it. Have previously stayed at the Asia, Ambassador and Fortune amongst others. Any input would be appreciated, thanks

i've stayed there a few times. WiFi, cheap, and central. a bit noisy, smelly, unreliable internet, worthless breakfast, bad food and when you complain the first 5 times over internet beeing down nothing happens etc. but if you really need WiFi a great bargain.

recommended for people with tight budget and who need internet. ask for a room with internet to get near the elevator where the router is.

Thanks Roblin,

No I am not bothered about internet and I'm not on a tight budget, so maybe this isn't the place for us. Just thought it looked ok and was cheap. Like I say we dont need a place with lots of frills, but I do want somewhere clean and safe, not smelly with bad food ! Thanks for the input.

I would not reccommended! It was my first and my last time there.

The surrouding area is really trashy, actually it looked a bit slummy.

The hotel employees are all very friendly though.

The room was clean but looks cheap

No good restaurant near by

Not close to any Mass Transit system...Not close to anything

The only postive thing..ummm.. Did I mentioned the friendlyness of the employees?

Sorry forgot to mentioned the following:

-The AMBASSADOR is another place I wouldn't recommended. Its very disciminating against foreigners. If you decide to stay there, be prepared to pay much higher fee. IMO, THIS IS THE WORSE HOTEL EVER... Can you tell I had a bad experience there?

-If you are looking at a modest price hotel in Sukumvit I reccomend "The FEDERAL HOTEL". The hotel is on the same street as the ambassador (sukumvit soi 11). Its clean, cheap, swimming pool, very friendly hotel staffs , reasonably price hotel taxi & friendly driver (will reccomend him anytime) , close to skytrain and many nice restaurants.

-Negative, the hotel is old and in need of fresh paint and new decor

-Postive (other than above), the price is less than half of the crappy AMBASSADOR and much better neighborhood of the Bangkok city suite

Thanks Misplaced. Looks like the City Suites is off the agenda ! Yea we stayed at the Ambassador last year so I know exactly what you mean ! We said we would never stay there again. What capped it off was practically being told that we had stolen a face flannel by a bad attitude receptionist when we checked out !! We found out later we had accidentally packed it in one of our suitcases with all the kids stuff . They charged us some ridiculous amount for it, can't remember exactly how much, but I can remember thinking I could have bought about a dozen for the same price !

I'll have a look at the Federal thanks.
