Oh dear, the man is more worried about his sex drive than his cardiovascular system, OK, cool!

Well I made the blood test to check if my hormones are OK and if my liver is OK, as I always drank a lot.

I made the cholesterol without reason, was confident that it is OK. So the results are very surprising for me.

Now I am a bit shocked......

Where you need to get to is LDL <60 and HDL >60, Triglycerides <100, ALT <50 and AST <25, you dick will take care of itself if you maintain those readings, all things being equal.

Eosinophil count is related to allergy so nothing concerning here.

The Atkins kind of diet (no carb, only protein and fat) which you seem to have been on can seriously affect Cholesterol so do get back to a balanced diet, cut out deep fried etc.

Doing the test again in 2 weeks may not show a significant change in cholesterol levels; 6 weeks on a good diet will probably be a better indication of where you are.

The test to do if you want to measure the effect of alcohol on the liver is GGT (Gamma-glutamyl transferase).

Creatinine is a kidney function test and is not affected by dietary creatinine. So low is good.

I am actually not really doing an Atkins diet, because I am also low on fat. So mostly low fat (but not complete fat-free) meat. Also eggs. But no fat meat.

I read that on Atkins first the cholesterol goes up high but later balances itself out and gets low. True or not? I don't know.

Now what I want to do:

add all kind of fibers and vegetables

keep going on very low carbs

cut alcohol to zero (anyway doesn't fit with the diet, was just because of my holidays in Europe)

Than I test again in 2 weeks. I complete agree that 2 weeks aren't enough for a major change. But I would use it as proof of concept. If it is in 2 weeks the same as now than my ideas didn't work I'll go back to a balanced diet. And than make a test again in say 4 weeks.

If there is a significant improvement (not perfect values but going significant in the right direction), I'll make another test in 2 weeks.

That tests aren't expensive and the clinic needed just 5 min to take my blood. With this approach I hope to get an impression what works and what not.

Additional I have some real world arguments for all that diet discussions.

That ugly cholesterol values won't kill me in 2 weeks, or?

You base this on what source?  AFAIK below 70 LDL is the recommendation for those of us at highest risk and under 100 for those at risk.

I supplied that same link for the OP to read in post 20, I simply typed incorrectly in that post. OR perhaps i simply used my numbers in error since those are my targets/actuals.
