Highway 7 @ 3240 Tollbooth Construction

Featured Replies

They started carving up the land on either side of the Highway 7 / 3240 intersection a few months back. How's the progress and has anyone sussed out where the existing feeders for local traffic will be redirected? I am out of the country ATM so good to know if the final approaches to NL Mansion have been buggered up yet.

Thanks,

NL

Used the junction to and from town the other day and did not notice any changes in the from BKK on/off connections. Will keep my eyes open and update if anything changes!

Cheers for that and the link to the earlier thread that almost got derailed into discussion of another project. The clearing of the south side for the inbound (exit to Pattaya) toll booths was very extensive as there was open land there. However, they seemed a lot further behind with what I assume will be the toll gates (enter to Bangkok) on the north side. There's more occupied property and land on that side. Maybe that grand looking new construction that has similar roof lines to a new government building will be the motorway admin office for the area? There's so much glass though that it looks like a showroom more than anything else.

The building on the North side has nothing to do with government, because on a government construction site will have a large red billboard with the details of the project.

The south side construction has that billboard erected.

Good point but by the same token, the south side construction was underway for nearly a month before any signage went up at all. When they were doing all the pilings for where the actual booths will be, most locals thought it was going to be a new PTT station.

Maybe the one big red sign currently erected is for the whole enterprise (both sides)?
