Thaksin news keeps the forum obsession with the man going.

Thailand's first prime minister to serve a full term in office.

Thailand's first prime minister to win two consecutive landslide election victories.

Thailand's first prime minister to be re-elected.

Thailand's first prime minister to pursue an election campaign based on policies to benefit the country's poorest people and regions.

Thailand needs him back, as you will no doubt start to realise in a few months time.

The Thaksin government faced allegations of corruption, authoritarianism, treason, conflicts of interest,  acting non-diplomatically, and muzzling of the press.

Thaksin was accused of tax evasion, lese majeste and selling assets of Thai companies to international investors. Independent bodies, including Amnesty International criticized Thaksin's human rights record. Thaksin was also charged for concealing his wealth during his premiership.

In 2008 Thaksin was sentenced to two years' imprisonment in absentia over a corrupt land deal.

This evil, wicked, greedy, arrogant, excuse for a human being scumbag will get his just desserts one day, and I'd happily tie the noose/pull the trigger/insert the needle myself.

Thaksin is not responsible. That part of the headline is undeniable.
In the meantime, his son would kindly ask if the military could return the country to his family, so that they can restore their version of democracy. If it's not too much trouble.
Back in the real world Thaksin would have slapped some law suits on the author/publisher of this book if he wasn't aware of it/didn't think it would benefit him. Quicker than you could say "dictator".

It might be worth reading the topic Fab4 as you post has nothing to do with it.

But given that Thaksin is such a Pathetic prophetic figure it must give him pause to castigate the author of this book as the title 2559 is also the alleged number of people killed during Thaksin's war on drugs. Or that 2016 marks ten years from 2006 and the end of the statutes of limitation for Thaksin's crimes.

attachicon.gifoak.jpg I know nothing

PS: Ramet, google, "Thaksin biography" autobiography implies he wrote it himself.

Sorry, waza, didn't realise you've taken over rubl's job. I was providing some background information to rametindallas wrt jaidams post. Just trying to help out but it obviously upset your day for some reason. If you don't want to read it, don't. If you're that upset about an aside being off topic, report it to the mods. coffee1.gif

ps your comment about the number of people allegedly killed in the war on drugs is also off topic but it didn't upset me enough to report it - but I would just like to point out that your numbers are inflated by about 100%.

Oddly enough, Human Rights Watch disagree with you, fab4. wink.png

"In the first three months of the campaign there were some 2800 extrajudicial killings. In 2007, an official investigation found that more than half of those killed had no connection whatsoever to drugs."

Well he can return anytime he likes, go to jail, don't pass go.

regards Worgeordie

Don't forget he has about 15 other charges hanging over his head.

I wonder if here is a statue of limitations on them. If not he could strike up a deal with the government where he turns over all his inside information on the likes of Jatuporn and the others and get his jail sentenced changed to probation with no real monitoring.

I really like and know how to appreciate the implied value of "didn't realise you've taken over rubl's job" and "it didn't upset me enough to report it".

That's why I don't report this rolleyes.gif

I also wonder if posters ever read articles to which links are provided rolleyes.gif

2008-10-22:

"If Thaksin really intends to return to his motherland without serving any of his sentences, he will have to stay in exile for 15 more years. The 59-year-old fugitive, who fled to London with his wife Pojaman on August 11, would be 74 years old then."

Personally I wonder if the prediction was made by our illustrious man walking around with his head under his arm thumbsup.gif

Around May 25, 2013 then Dept. PM Pol. Captain Chalerm vowed to bring back Thaksin home a free man before the end of the year. While addressing a red-shirt rally in Udon Thani k. Chalerm said "If I fail (to bring Thaksin home) I’ll accept sole responsibility. You can behead me"

Clearly a fake promise, from a counterfeit former-DPM Chalerm, since the real one would have delivered or paid-up ! wink.png

Think he will be surprised by howmuch support among the people he has lost!

Here in Isaan, now all the scandals are being showed to the people, the reds i know are pretty fed up with him and his family.

Some still waiting for their money and stunned by the amounts of rice missing. Even they feel mr T's family has raped this country and don't want him and his FUp sister back.

I doubt very much if Thaksin had anything to do with the silly prediction regarding his return to Thailand, but I bet he is drooling over the publicity. I think he needs to stay on the "front page", seems to think he will be forgotten if not talked about daily.

Personally, even if he told me the story in person I would not believe a word of it.

My post was very topical, try reading it.

But to address another of your fabrications, here are some references.

They don't call him the "fabricator" for nothing.
Should be a law against publishing damaging utter bs......................wait a minute, there is ! biggrin.png

A return of this megalomaniac will cause untold problems for Thailand, Thaskin is a disrupting influence , he is like a problem child in a classroom and should be kept as far from all the children as possible, the problem gets far more far reaching if the problem child gets lead poisoning, then TAT will have finding tourists numbers very hard indeed. bah.gif

It has occurred to me that lead poisoning is a cause of death in most countries around the world.

Has any one heard any thing about Yingluck? Is she still planning on coming back. Left to her own thinking she probably will. In her mind she has done nothing wrong.

On the other hand if she does not come back Thaksin will have his foreign spin doctors working 7/24 for the foreign press. Make the Shinawatra clan look like martyrs to truth justice and the pursuit of liberty.sad.png
