Hope people can help with these following questions.

I intent to take my Thai GF and our new born son to England for a 6 month visit.

1) As I have been here for 6 months supporting her I have not been earning any money so my bank statements only show savings going down over this period. I could show pay slips from when I have worked but they are all in email form, OK?

1b) I don't have any ability to get any original Bank statements as mine are all online now, is just printing these off sufficient?

I intend to get a job when back in the UK to support us and get more savings to spend when back in Thailand for the next 6 months.

2) So a letter from family stating I can stay in there home whilst looking for work is what I was going with but does it need to be a printed, signed and posted original, or can I just print off an email?

3) Also another question on the same line, does property deeds need to be original for the proof of returning to Thailand as she doesn't want to get then sent to us in the Post with fear of theft.

4) Also, we are going down the route of getting a visit visa for our son rather than a British passport due to time constraints, is this the best route? I don't have my UK birth certificate with me here.

Cheers.

The biggest hurdle your girlfriend is going to face, remember she's the applicant, as are her reasons to return. Are you saying that she intends to stay in the UK for a six months holiday? if so, the Entry Clearance Officer could be forgiven for thinking that she hopes to use a visit visa to circumnavigate the settlement rules.

In response to your specific questions:

1 - They do require original documentation, emails and copies can be altered, can you not get the originals sent to you?

1b- Online line copies are acceptable, but they should be supported by an original letter from the bank, on bank headed notepaper, confirming their authenticity.

2 - An email confirming you can stay with your family should be acceptable for a short visit, that's all I've ever done, though my visits are normally for three weeks or so.

3 - A property deed wouldn't normally be required for a visit visa, though the home owners should give details of the accommodation available to you and your family for the duration of your holiday.

4 - The best route is obviously a UK Passport for your son, but I don't see that an application using a Thai passport being an issue, though it will be a full application and will have to qualify as a Thai national.

All that said I don't think your wife's application will be straightforward, you seem to be living in Thailand for six months using your saving to support them, did you abide by Thai Immigration Laws?

Your funds are now running low so need to return to the UK to get a job, how low are your funds do you have job prospects?

You seem to suggest that your wife will want to go to the UK for six months, that's one heck of a holiday, can you prove that you can support them if you don't get a job? What are your girlfriend and child going to do all day.

Can your girlfriend demonstrate her ties to Thailand, and thus her reasons to return?

Sorry if I'm talking doom and gloom, your girlfriends application could go either way.
