My husband is applying for his family visit vis in the next few weeks. Just a couple of questions

1. Does his passport need to be certified ? Does the sponsor passport need to be certified? Does our son's passport need to be certified? Is it every page or just the bio date page?

2. Do we need to copy every page of the passport including blank pages?

I hope someone can help. Thanks.

You can self certify all of them.

I would copy all the pages just to be on the safe side, if there are stamps where you have travelled together, I would cross reference them on the first page, to evidence travel together.

To expand on theoldgit's answer:-

It is only copies of passports which need to be certified.

Your husband will be submitting his original passport with the application; so no need to certify this or submit a copy.

You should submit a copy of your passport to show

  • your British nationality,
  • your immigration status in Thailand or, if you don't live in Thailand with him, when and how often you have visited him and
  • any trips outside Thailand you and he may have taken together.

I would include copies of blank pages, to show that they are, indeed, blank.

You may want to submit a copy of your son's British passport for the same reasons.

Each page of the copy of your passport should be self certified thus: "I (full name) certify that this is a true copy of page (number) of my British passport (number). Sign and date"

If submitting a copy of your son's passport, if he is old enough (16 or over?) he should do the same, but if a young child then you can certify thus: "I (full name) am the mother of (your son's full name) who is (age) and I certify that this is a true copy of page (number) of his British passport (number). Sign and date"
