Has anybody Had Cataracts Done at Buriram Private Hospital

Featured Replies

I am in big need of getting my Cataracts fixed, if anybody has had them done at Buriram Private iI would like to know how it went etc.

Thank Youi

Hi, Davo.

Don't know about Buriram.

Just an advice. Cataracts tend to grow back when removed.

Check out this procedure: they cut out cornea with cataract and sew in a plastic lens. 20/20 vision and no repeats.

Not sure if this is being done in Thailand or in Buriram. Check out before operation. Best of luck.

No help for Buriram but I have recently seen posts on another forum about Ruampet hospital in Surin:-

"I took my father inlaw to Ruamphet only four months ago. The operation took 10 minutes, They gave him a bevy of drugs and a pair of sunglasses, UV Rated at that.
His eye was bandaged for one week and had a small amount of pain in that week, but he said the difference was amazing. The doctor was amazing, she must of done it 1000 times before. Cost was 2000 Baht."

The normal procedure is removal of cataract and replacement with IOL and done here as elsewhere - so that is a new lens - but vision will not always be 20/20 and often reading glasses will be required for normal single focus lens (there are higher cost multi focal but normally not covered by insurance as a bit more problematic).
