Security guard held under suspicion of killing 4-year old girl

Thon Buri: -- A security guard has confessed that he killed a four-year old girl and hid her body wrapped in a black plastic bag in a sewage drain at an apartment in Thon Buri, said Pol Maj-Gen Thitirath Nonghanpitak, deputy commissioner of Metropolitan Police Bureau, today.

The guard whose identity was not disclosed was among five men held in custody by police for interrogation under suspicion that they might be involved in the murder of the little girl, Vikarnda Ruangpanya. Except for the guard, the four other suspects were released after the questioning.

The victim was reported missing last Wednesday by her father, Mr Wiroj Ruangpanya. On Saturday, a body was found wrapped in a black plastic bag and stuffed inside a sewage drain at an apartment in Soi Ratchada Tha Phra 5, Tambon Dao Khanong, Thon Buri district. It was affirmatively identified by Mr Wiroj as his missing daughter.

Surveillance cameras at and around the apartment showed a middle-aged man holding the hand of the victim before she was reported missing by her father.

Police said that the guard used to work at the apartment where the victim’s body was found before he was shifted to work in the other apartments owned by the same company. He was said to be faimiliar with several tenants in the apartment, including the victim.

Pol Maj-Gen Thitirath said police were still awaiting an autopsy report to determine whether the victim was sexually assaulted or not.

May the poor darling rest in peace and my heartfelt sympathy goes out to her parents and all who will miss her.

This just never seems to stop. The poor child and the family. I hope he gets either along time away or dealt with quickly in prison.

A previous report said he tried to rape her, and when she fought him and tried to call for help, he killed her.

Put him in a room with the girls father and see what happens to him.

He, the father of the murdered girl is standing next to his wife and probably his daughter.

Beware these reports. They may be true but the Thai police have a very bad record of charging patsies when a horrendous crime like this is committed. They need to get the pressure off their back so they can get back to the main task of fund-raising.

Since the press only rely on police press releases, then what appears in the papers is obviously one-sided. Many such cases.

Actually, probably no more dangerous than the majority of countries in the world. Just another incident with a tragic ending. Unfortunately it happens everywhere, not just Thailand.

I just saw my Thai friends linked to when they found the guys body in full Thai uncencered pictures. That poor girl was 100% sexually assualted and then killed and hidden by this non-human piece of shit!! He deserves no mercy!!!

Doesn't sound like much of a confession if they don't know if the girl had been raped. It was also reported the police did the crime reenactment without the suspect there.

Also a bit odd they mention they can identify the man in the video as being middle aged but apparently can't confirm it is the suspect. Not to mention the Bangkok Post has named this person and report he is 27 years old.

These English translated news articles are all too often close to being worthless. By the time they put them out there are usually many updates, clarifications and corrections already out there.

Police inspect a sewerage pipe yesterday, where the body of a four-year-old girl was found. A former security guard allegedly strangled her after she resisted his sexual advances, and dumped her body there.

BANGKOK: -- Police have arrested a man suspected of sexually assaulting and killing a four-year-old girl in Thon Buri in Bangkok.

The girl went missing in her neighbourhood on Wednesday and was found dead on Saturday afternoon.

The 27-year-old suspect had used a false name to secure a job at a neighbouring condominium project. In his application, he was identified as Chatree Seedee.

The man told police that he was drinking alcohol and got a sexual urge when he spotted the girl running around alone.

"We have checked recordings from security cameras in target areas since we received reports of the girl going missing," deputy Metropolitan Police Commissioner Maj-General Thitiraj Nongharnpitak said yesterday. "From these recordings, we found a man leading a girl towards an apartment block."

Police scoured the area until they smelled a foul odour coming from a sewerage pipe. When they opened its lid, they found the girl's body in a garbage bag. Her father cried when he saw the body.

The father said she went missing between 6pm and 8pm on Wednesday. His family initially believed she went to a market with her grandfather. But when the grandfather returned home alone, they realised she was missing.

Chatree told police that the girl was familiar with him, but she resisted his attempt to rape her and when she cried out for help, he strangled her.

Near the same age as my daughter, would devastate me. Poor family. Death is the only options for these rabid dogs, assuming it is proven beyond reasonable doubt.

There is no sound more beautiful on this earth than that of a sweet little girl squealing in delight. It melts the heart. This guard has no heart. He should not be allowed to hear any more sounds.

Children need to be educated from a young age not to go off with anyone unless parents are there and have given them their consent, and parents need to pay closer attention to where their chilren are. Its the only way we will ever be able to protect our kids from these sick people!

IF this story is correct and as stated, then (apart from being totally disgusted !) I think the following point should be raised: The alleged culprit is reported to be "middle-aged"; - the guy is obviously a pedophile; it is NOT likely to be his first offence against children. I wonder of the police will check this guys past .
