Recommendation Wanted – Annual Physical Exam/Health Check-up in Pattaya

I’m a retiree that lives fulltime in Jomtien and I’m looking for recommendations on hospitals/clinics to get an annual physical exam/health check-up. I’m in pretty good shape, with no health issues (that I’m aware of). Based on my research, I’m considering the hospitals and clinic listed below. Would greatly appreciate any first-hand experience from fellow expats.

Bangkok Pattaya Hospital (BHP) receives a lot of favorable reviews for their services, but their costs are high. BHP is currently offering an Executive Male (age 46-55) Check-up Package for 47,000 baht. The package looks extensive, but seems a bit pricey to me.

I also understand BHP has a new clinic in Jomtien (on Sukhumvit near the Big C), but I was unable to find any details about their services and prices on-line. I will probably make a visit to their facility to see what they offer.

Pattaya International Hospital (PIH) has a very similar package to BHP for 13,000 baht (plus 1,000 baht doctor fee). It begs the question why there is such a significance difference in price from BHP.

Dr. Olivier Clinic gets high marks from expats. I would expect his costs to be much cheaper than a private hospital, but imagine his check-ups might not be as exhaustive as those offered by BHP and PIH.

I’m not committed to any of the above listed hospital/clinic, so I would consider other options. Appreciate any constructive feedback forum members care to offer. Thanks.

Bangkok Pattaya Hospital used to offer a package similar in price and value as Bumrungrad Hospital. 12,500THB for the same number and kinds of tests.

I did the checkup there once and it felt just like "me too", to keep some customers from going to Bumrungrad.

While at Bumrungrad it all takes 2 hours (a hostess takes you from test to test, from door to door, no waiting), at BHP there were 2-3 hours that nobody was registering I existed. Took most of that day.

The price of 45,000THB was for the show, both Bumrungrad and BHP had that same product "on special" for 12,500THB or so. Just come to the counter.

There is no reason, the 12,500THB check would cover nothing more or less than the 45,000THB.

I guess, the 45,000THB price tag is when Insurance companies are paying, that is still less what the cost in the US would be for the same thing.

+1 to Phyathai Sri Racha.

They have special promotion prices every month, if what you need is not on "special" and there is no rush, wait until it is.
