September 17, 201411 yr Hi, I just got scammed and got 5,000 bill for cleaning sewage tank. Beware! But luckily they indeed cleaned it. My question is: do I need to put anything into "self served" septic tank ?
September 17, 201411 yr I'd be going to the police - that's just an insane price. As for what needs to go back in, depends on what type of tank it is. Is it a multi-chamber design, or just a single chamber?
September 17, 201411 yr Provided you haven't put loads of toxic cleaners or stuff through it it will get going by itself. You can buy packs of 'starter' from most hardware stores (flush it down the loo) but in reality they work just fine with the naturally occurring organisms in the effluent. "I don't want to know why you can't. I want to know how you can!"
September 18, 201411 yr As Crossy says don't use toxic cleaners. I use half a pack about every six months. Just flush down the loo. Family of 5, have had no problems in 10 years
September 26, 201411 yr you can get EM from animal feed stores, put some of that down toilet, good for smells start the good bcteria off and cheap, i use it to cut down smells on the farm, all natual stuff, they used it in bangkok after and during the floods
