Key witness says foreigner kills British tourists

Your'e all so cynical - a foreigner is someone who doesn't live on Koh Tao or to be exact in that village in Koh Tao where the crime was committed - der der der - is Inspector Clouseau anywhere abouts - we need 'im desperately to clean zees up

Seriously though I find the callous repect for the families of these poor victims attrocious! What they must be going through is beyond sadness and with these daily media reports making things worse for them day by day. The Thai police need to zip and, get on with their work and when and if they have conclusive proof then arrest the perpetrators - for the moment it's a farce.

It would be a farce and really sad if all people would behave like you and try to keep this case quiet

until its gone

like most of the officials and hiso crap asses want it.

In the name of the victims and their families we should try to keep this case alive

until the true perpetrators are behind bars

even we all know that these chances in this country are very very slim

That article is like 6 days old now so i think who he is referring to is the AC Bar manager and his brother the owner. And I've read he had only been there for 2 weeks and had meet David a couple of times at social events so his Facebook message about meeting up with him that night when they both realized they were on the island together is a bunch of BS.

I' d be surprised if McAnna was involved in this. He has put himself in the crime because he is a fantasist and an attention seeker. If he'd been involved he would have been more circumspect. I think the two most logical scenarios are that: 1) this was a face saving revenge attack by guys who had hassled Hannah in AC bar and been spurned. Or 2) an opportunistic attack by some guys who saw Hannah and David going down to the beach and decided to watch them and then rape her, maybe the guys she shared a cigarette with, and they were probably high on something. I lean towards the second of these.

The horrific brutality of the murders and rape would indicate some sort of emotional intensity. It could be drugs, but this seems to go beyond drugs. The kind of drug induced rage would probably be from people that were well known drug users on the island.

Or the brutal bashing in of her head is to hide something else that happened to her in the initial attack that could link either the mafia or police to her.

They may have been high on yaba in which case they could be capable of anything. I don't buy this police/mafia thing, they would have disposed of the bodies or at least taken more care to not leave so much evidence.

His clothing has changed

So if he left his shorts at the scene and put on David's to escape there must be DNA on these shorts, and if he's a local, someone must recognise him from the CCTV. Is he one of the AC bar owners sons who is being protected? Or one of the Burmese suspects?

"Police found a pair of trousers with unknown stains on them that they have sent for DNA testing in Bangkok. "

Ok so googling that, the article says that (Sean) witnessed two Thai men trying to molest Hannah at an entertainment venue. And was also believed to have seen David rescue Hannah from the advances of the men before leaving the venue together on the night they were murdered.

I wonder if Sean's DNA is in the batch they are supposed to have completed soon because with all the contradictory statements he has made he surely should be considered as a suspect now.

Way too much conflicting info.

1. There's the statement about Sean witnessing an incident in the bar that involved Hanna (not sure I've seen this attributed directly to him).

2. He says he was in a group that was playing a guitar and singing on the beach not far from the murder scene.

3. He says he fell asleep, hence wasn't able to meet up with David that night.

Perhaps only he knows which of these are true. The waters are muddied for the rest of us. Anyone able to clarify 1,2 and 3 above?

When the police stated that "A Thai would never do such a thing" essentially ruling out thais as suspects, all credibility was lost IMO.

This was on day one, if I remember correctly.

That statement really sums them up well.

Well it also makes you wonder what sort of delusional ill informed world there people are living in. Every day there is another story of some horrendously random and violent act carried out by some thai here or there.

It is becoming a daily event.

His clothing has changed

Well, that would look pretty conclusively like he went to the beach in a dark pair of shorts and came back with a light pair. Hmmmmmmmmm.

It's a pity that after 2 weeks nobody on the little island knows who this guy is...

No wander ....they are just tired of looking for real guilty....

What can you do if can not find a guilty one ....create a mysterious story .. it's easy...clap2.gifcheesy.gif case closed.

"If he's lived on the island for 18 months wouldn't he likely know these men? And if so why hasn't he named them? Especially now that he's off the island. Either he's full of BS and seeking attention, or they were not locals so he didn't recognise them, or he's throwing in a red herring for some reason. Strange, but then everything about this guy is strange."

Actually, he did indirectly identify the person he believed was involved. He published on Facebook that it was the owner of the AC Bar.

why worry? Just wait for this story to string itself along, long enough for the tourism rush hour to be upon them - then sit back and enjoy these island mafia families squirm in their knowledge of lost profits.

I'll have to be careful what I write. Most people on Koh Tao know who are responsible. They also know who took the main perpetrator of the island by private speedboat around sunrise. Media and UK reps were not allowed to witness DNA taking of certain suspects. But everyone on the island is too scared to talk. And who are you gonna talk to when the guy leading the investigation is a friend and partner of a certain local family in a mainland business venture? I think there will be quite some foreigners who are planning their departure from the island. And hopefully when one of these people is back safe in their home country the full story will come out.

This is true...nice to see some facts..

Sorry, and maybe your one of these people but its just not good enough,

If the above is the case then these "people" should have been back home in their respective countrys now and appearing on CNN.

Its a case of turning a blind eye to look after themselves im afraid, its not as if most would be walking away from millions of investment is it?

Business in Thailand is quickly becoming like that of working in a Hospital.

Dr: "working in this Hospital would be great, if it weren't for all these patients"

Wake up LOS - you are slowly killing off your golden goose

Whoever it was it will be too late.

Soon the patsy will be paraded on the beach, doing the reconstruction like he has been shown too.

And all the while people who are in the know sit with their thumb up their <deleted>.

So if one perp was taken off the island by speedboat - perhaps the AC bar owners son - who is the second rapist? Is he still on the island?

Its just that if people know who they were how can they justify keeping their mouths shut when if they spoke out and were murdered by the Koh Tao mafia then surely that would really do damage to Koh Tao business. Im meaning surely in the long run it is worst to keep it a secret than to know these killers could come back to the island.
