Malala and Kailash Satyarthi win Nobel Peace prize

(BBC) Pakistani child education activist Malala Yousafzai and Indian child rights activist Kailash Satyarthi have won the Nobel Peace prize.

At 17, Malala is the youngest recipient of the prize.

The teenager was shot in the head by Taliban gunmen in October 2012 for campaigning for girls' education.

The committee said the pair were awarded the prize "for their struggle against the suppression of children and young people".

Good news, although one year late.

Even the Nobel Committee appear to have succumbed to an element of PC by making it a joint award with an Indian.

However, it does look like the prize has been awarded for the right reasons this year.

Both awardees can be proud of their achievements and the world is a better place for their actions.

Congratulations to both.

The world needs more people like them, fighting for the rights of the others.

Has the Nobel committee finally returned to their senses?

Good choices and both long overdue.

Good news for once. This young lady is a future World leader.

Has the Nobel committee finally returned to their senses?

Good choices and both long overdue.

It's 40 years since Kissinger, so you would hope so,

Will not change anything on the ground, it will just make the religious fanatics hate us even more.
