Exchanging IGCSEs for a Mathayom 6 certificate?

Featured Replies

Okay, not exactly 'exchanging', but I've heard that that's how the Chinese do it - they have their high-school equivalent exams, by which they can be granted with an M6 high-school certificate without having to actually finish a Thai school and even without the need to graduate in China at all.

I'm a school drop-out, just left in the middle of M5 after having finished my basic 5 IGCSE O-levels, and I'm now moving on to my A-levels. I do realize that even just the O-levels are enough to get into a Thai uni, or just the A-levels to get into most unis out of Thailand, but it still bugs me that I don't have a school graduation certificate. But at least some sort of paper, even a Thai one that won't assist me anyhow out of Thailand, would make me feel somewhat secure.

My teacheres told me that there is a way to get an M6 certificate if you've done at least 5 IGCSEs - anyone knows anything about this and how to do this? Or at least where to start.

Thanks in advance!

That is correct

MOE can issue it if you have 5 good IGCSEs

Does raise a question as to the quality of education at a university that lets students join with 5 IGCSEs only.
