I will be travelling to Bangkok in late nov. for a week or so and need to buy Onkyo HTS (Home Theater System). I saw a topic already posted for purchasing hi-fi in Bangkok, but just wanted to know if someone can point me to specific Onkyo shops/dealers. I'm planning to buy one of the following models

HT-S590S

HT-S580S

HT-S670S

HT-S790S

If someone can let me know the current prices of these systems in Bangkok as well, that'll be great ! Also, how much is the price difference of Onkyo(hi-fi systems) available in Bangkok as compared to US Stores like circuitcity and bestbuy ? These models are available for around 280-400 US$ in Circuitcity/Bestbuy stores in US.

Since King's b'day will be around the corner, i'm hoping that lots of stores/shops will be offering discounts. Does anyone know of any hi-fi audio shop that offers discounts at that time , every year ?

That equipment is available at the Hi Fi Center behind Big-C, Rachadamri Rd.

Expect to pay more in Thailand than other places.

The deals are in HK and Singapore. Not here.

Thx for replying. I expect the price to be less than what it is in India , nevertheless. The low-end model HT-S590S is priced at around 28000 Indian Rupees or 23000 (Thai Baht). If someone can confirm the pricing is lower in BKK than this, it'll be wonderful. The price for TVs and DVD players (Sony brand) are definitely double in India as compared to prices in Bangkok . I'm not expecting that much difference in case of HTS , but even 25% difference will do.

Any contact numbers/web-sites/email add. of Hi-Fi Audio Equipment dealers will be definitely of great help. I want to strike the deal before i land there so that i can just go & pick up the stuff. I know if i wander around those shops too much, i may end up buying much more stuff than what my pocket permits !

The cost of HT-S590S is 16990 Baht(inclusive of all taxes). I'm assuming that i'll get 7% VAT refund on producing my passport while immigrating back from Thailand.

Does anyone know any place where it gets cheaper than this ?
