The UK police will not say a word until their official inquiry begins in January.

By then the suspects will still not be in court.

They were originally arrested for illegal entry - so they will face charges no matter what - so there is still ~a month + some days they can be detained legally without prosecuting - but looking at how the case has gone, I'm placing my bets on mistrial/deportation.

The police haver repeatedly said that the case is complete/perfect. At the time of nomsod's DNA test they stated that the test would not form part of the investigation, because that was "complete". Now they say it is ongoing.

Terrible murder and bizarre/queer case; Unbelievable police search for suspects. Plenty of strange stories, which doesn't hold and plenty of police statements that are fantasies, or whatever you want to call them.

Playing guitars and singing songs. Hardly this is a preparation for a murder. Unless we are dealing with psychopaths, which is unlikely the case. Test again DNA under supervision of English team and compare it then with the English samples.

The whole case of the stolen Saudi Jewels came up several times with accusations of police cover-up. There was even a claim there that a photo of the wife of a police general at some society ball showed her wearing one of the necklaces. Murder of environmentalists. Disappearance of a labor organizer (high ranking police officer claimed he knew where the guy was, and that he was with a woman; the body has still never been found).There have been others that don't stick in my memory, but why do you think the outcries of a police frame-up came so quickly? It was because this is not an unusual occurrence. The usual tactic is to just stall until everybody loses interest or has to go to work or something. In this case they may have run into groups that will not give up so easily.

I hope they actually have the wisdom to step back and realize the implications of this. The threats of criminal lawsuits by the RTP have already been reported internationally. If they were to be so hypocritical as to actually try and sue people for criticizing the way the investigation (the perfect case) has been run then the whole world will laugh more, but in reality it will be another very sad day for Thailand.

If the head man of Koh Tao tries to bring criminal defamation suits against people he will also create the final nail for the coffin that awaits Koh Tao
