Chen Ji to explain abduction
The Nation

BANGKOK: -- Chinese-Cambodian businessman Chen Ji will talk to police next week about his abduction, metropolitan police investigation commander Pol Maj-General Sombat Milintrachinda said yesterday.

The 27-year-old was abducted from Bangkok's Pratunam area on November 11, reportedly for Bt100 million ransom, before being released in Cambodia on November 14.

He had promised to testify to police on November 19 about the claims, but asked for a week's time, Sombat said.

An informed source said that Chen was a games programmer and the motive of his kidnap might stem from an alleged conflict with partners in China over Bt200 million in royalties.

cheesy.gifcheesy.gif Another case and another extension !

No reason was given but it does help to get the story word perfect and make sure important details are put in place or made to disappear.

Maybe he is frightened of the police, in case he knows it was possibly RTP that committed the crime, after all there must have been cooperation with the Thai and Cambodian border guards to get him over the border with confidence.

I'd like to see the explanation first, at this stage it looks very strange indeed , being abducted isn't on everyone's agenda everyday, so why the time to think about what, not a good look. coffee1.gif

He needs a week to think about explaining his abduction to the police. What are the odds that after a week Ji may be out of Thailand with promises to return at some unspecified time in the future? After all, he's the alleged victim and not under any suspicion for a crime so no reason to stop him.
