Former CSD crime buster dies in unexplained circumstances

Featured Replies

Starting to look much like the Blue Diamond case, hits to cover-up coverups. Let's see if this is still dragging on after 2 decades as well. In retrospect it would have been better had they actually solved the case, rather than using the "investigation" as a template for future police shenanigans.

So sad !!! He made the mistake of telling the press that he had something important to say. He probably should have known better, but maybe thought that this would give him some kind of safety net. I can only hope there is a sealed envelope somewhere to be released on his death. This country is starting to look more and more like Mexico, with mafia-like killings almost every day. RIP.

Where did h fall? Was there an autopsy to determine if there was foul play causing the fall or pushing. It looks like the Thai press just backed away from any questions here and was satisfied with the establishment line on just "actual" cause of death and not circumstances. Congratulations again to the Thai press.

>The sources said some of the vacancies were expected to be filled by policemen aligned with Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwon, the leader of the powerful Burapha Phayak military clique that includes Prime Minister Prayut Chan-o-cha.<

So much for bringing an end to corruption and nepotism after the coup!!bah.gif

Same old wine in new bottles!!

As ever here it's not what you know it's who.

The new apointees will be deemed most suitable as they are onside, loyalty assured and know how to say ' Yes '.

Competency isn't essential.

He fell from high ground and fractured his spine. What more is there to know? Just get him creamated cremated quickly and be done with it. </sarcasm>

The Thai press are terrified to ask questions, they have been threatened by the P.M with incarceration and forced attitude adjustments. They now will just accept and report what they are ordered.

Bringing peace and happiness to the Thai people sure is a bumpy road to drive down!

Transferred police officer's death caused by fall
The Sunday Nation

BANGKOK: -- The sudden death on November 20 of Crime Suppression Division's Sub-Division 1 former chief, Pol Colonel Akkharawut Limrat who was recently transferred to work at the Royal Thai Police Operations Centre, resulted from shattered spine and damaged rib cage following his fall from a high place, according to his death certificate.

Following previous rumours that the policeman had committed suicide, an informed source reported that the policeman's funeral and cremation rites were held at Wat Lak Si on Friday before the family collected the ashes to float them in the river yesterday.

Akkharawut, 41, was among four policemen who were transferred earlier this month to inactive posts as per the order signed by national police chief Somyot Pumpunmuang.

Gravity?

he was apparently part of a purge, and didnt get the memo that he may fall if he didn't accept that his side lost

not a good sign for a country that wants not to be called, a junta

Well now we know why no specific reason was given for the man's dismissal. The soldiers couldn't exactly say "he had the wrong political allegiance" could they? That would be to implicate the truth, which is that the army's forced acquisition of power was purely politically motivated.

I think that has been obvious for some time. No?

As for meaningful reforms... when pigs can fly.

Death by falling. Now what caused the fall?

or perhaps a baseball bat

Condolences to the family of the deceased. No matter what the cause of death, there is pain and suffering there.

When they transfer you to an inactive post, they dont muck around here.

murder

Too friendly with his British Colleagues

Why cant we have a serious thread going without someone mentioning a connection to the Koh Tao case.

Not good at connecting the dots are you ...

The guy was in Koh Tao, made a public statement that he had some very important information, was suddenly transferred, then dies suddenly in unexplained circumstances and then a cremation 12 hours after the death ... you don't find that at all suspicious?

The political affiliation/sponsoring they mention is only "part" of the equation, it's a deflection as to the real reasons for this murder.

"High ground" does that mean Mount Everest or the doorstep?

or the balcony of a Bangkok hotel, that's a popular place to fall

from.

regards worgeordie

Yes, I want to know where this 'high ground' is so I can stay away from it. It sounds dangerous.

Probably because so few people believe that the police investigation into the tragic murders of Hannah Witheridge and David Miller has been worth spit, and every unexplained death (and there seem to be a few) is now of major concern. Particularly when it is a former CSD crime buster dying in unexplained circumstances.

If that's the rationale, better to go back to the disappearance of the Muslim lawyer or the murder of Saudi diplomats. The Koh Tao rape/murder has been discussed ad infinitum and you are one of the primary ones keeping it alive. It adds nothing to the current discussion so go back to your Koh Tao thread and talk it to death some more. Maybe if you bring it up in enough threads, the RTP will reform themselves... not.

I can't find a connection to Kho Tao on this guy?

was this guy actually connected to Ko Tao?

if so,

OH BOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No he was not. Please stop this BS

When they have made a TV program about the most dangerous jobs in the world, they should have

put being a CIB officer investigating crimes in Thailand as No. 1 .........

What do the many officers do when they are put on inactive duty?

A dirty cop goes room temperature. I will lose much sleep over this, and will not do a little dance also.

This guy was probably one of the good guys!!

And his refusual to be "one of the guys" might have got him killed!!

It is surely a pure coincidence, that the unwillingness to bring the real culprits on Koh Tao to justice and now this hit, points to the same highranking member of the RTP!!

I can't find any links between this guy and Koh Tao.

He was clearly a potential whistle blower.... end of.

Almost in all transfers you get the reason, this time you didn't and now the guy is dead.

2+2=4

Either

he was clearly a potential whistle blower and got done in ...

Or

he was clearly got caught with his finger in the pie and did himself in ...

There isn't really any evidence for either scenario.

Further and further into the abyss, Thailand is certainly screwing itself in a big way.

Why are some people so naive about life in Thailand.

MONEY, MONEY and MORE MONEY
